Who Is Fitbit? 

Fitbit was founded in San Francisco, California in 2007 by Eric Frieman and James Park. 

They both come from backgrounds starting what grow to become large corporations. Fitbit 

has a motto of being dedicate to helping people lead more active and healthier lives. 

Since it’s inception Fitbit has grown to be the market leader in the Connected Health & 

Fitness market. They take a simple approach to fitness and feel the key is to make it easier  

for consumers to get more balanced exercise, diet and rest. To achieve this the company 

has a range of products from the Fitbit Zip, the Fitbit One Activity tracker Clips, the Aria Wi‐

Fi Smart Scale and now the much anticipated Fitbit Flex, a wireless activity and sleep 

wristband. The company believes they have the most diverse range of products for people 

to track their everyday health. From startup in 2007 the products are now distributed 

through 15,000 retail outlets in U.S. as well as internationally. 

 

What is Connected Health ? 

Connected health simply is using new technology  such as, cell phones, computers, smart 

phones and laptops to monitor and record information and data. Consumers and the 

devices are able to transmit the data wirelessly or via an internet connection to health 

workers or personal trainers etc. Even contests are held  to keep the consumers engaged

My wife and I purchased our Flex bands early at Best Buy like so many others have already done. 

This is my first Fitbit product and activity tracker, so please keep that in mind. First off, the product's 

presentation is stellar and will no doubt be an attractive offer to people checking it out in the store.

I've been waiting for several months for this to be released, and the day it became available at Best 

Buy was the day I walked in and bought one. It's very comfortable to wear and sleek looking.. I have 

found the device to be extremely accurate for me. I have counted my steps and compared ‐ it 

matches. I enjoy the graphs. My friend has the UP and told me about the sleep tracking portion.

I purchased the FitBit Flex after following news of it closely on the internet for over a month. I work 

at a rather sedentary job, and had been contemplating buying a pedometer for a while. I'm a pretty 

big sucker for anything that allows me to track exercise data via my phone, so this product is perfect 

for that. 

 

The quality of the band seems like something that will hold up for a long time. It has the feeling 

similar to any of the several cancer support bracelets, and they include two different sized bands 

that will span every wrist size imaginable. The actual FitBit slips into a little slot on the inside part of 

the band, and there's absolutely no chance of it falling out. It does, however, intrigue me as to how I 

can continue to track my information when I don't want to wear the wristband, as the device itself 

could easily slip into my wallet (but would likely get lost) 

 

As for the number of steps tracked, this device seems to be dead on.
