PICK UP PUT DOWN CHALLENGE

COLLECT YOUR REBOUND

COLLECT YOUR REBOUNDOBJECT CONTROLIn pairs, both roll/throw a ball against a wall simultaneously with the aim of collecting your rebound at the same time and from the same distance (cooperate with others, be patient with others). Share the wall and equipment with at least one other pair and take turns to have a go.When not your go, encourage and praise the other pair(s). Increase the challenge by using two different sized/weighted balls.

FOLLOW THE LEADERLOCOMOTIONPlay ‘follow the leader’ with a partner and copy their footwork patterns. Play in a grid with several other pairs, using your awareness of space to both avoid each other and to spot the visual signal to change the leader. Try with the leader moving backwards and the follower copying their movements moving forwards. Describe the differences between.

MIRROR CHALLENGESTABILITYWork with a partner facing each other and alternating as ‘leader’ and ‘follower’, with the ‘leader’ moving forwards changing their footwork pattern while keeping the same distance from the ‘follower’ who mirrors the movements while moving backwards. Start off cooperatively and then play competitively with the ‘leader’ trying to unbalance the ‘follower’.

CORNER MOVEMENTLOCOMOTION Select a piece of equipment from one of the corners (each corner has different equipment in) then, working in a grid, use your imagination to try to work out different ways to combine the piece of equipment with a movement pattern and also different ways of locomotion. Swap the piece of equipment and adapt and adjust different movement and locomotion patterns with the selected equipment.

COMPLEX CHALLENGESOBJECT CONTROLIndividually play with multiple feeders who roll the balls in different directions at different times. Use quick thinking to collect all the balls before they reach a certain distance. Try the same in pairs and small groups, demonstrating the ability to read and react to each other’s movements. Introduce different start positions, tunnels etc to increase the challenge.
