Gracen Savannah Georgia caught this beautiful flounder!
Captain Garrett reports that, “Emma says she wants to be a professional
fisherwoman when she grows up, and she listened to everything I had to say on our
trip. She cast, hooked and landed some awesome flounder and trout better than
most of the adult men I take fishing. She’s got the passion and skills to not only be
a professional fisherwoman, but one of the best fishermen of any gender. This girl
was polite, kind, and just an absolute pleasure to take out. Her mom faith was just
as cool too. A great trip for great ladies!” Now you know the rest of the story!
Captain Judy says, “I hope to hear from her in the not so distance future! Who
knows she might just want to be a charter boat captain!”

Suggestions offered to those that want to catch their own!
Small shrimp are being caught while shallow water casting! What the heck is
shallow water casting? The best scenario that I can off would be throwing a cast
net in 1 to 2 feet of water at a low tide stage, which is by marsh areas. During the
falling tide shrimp refugee out of the grass with the water as it fall flows out of the
marsh. After the shrimp comes out of the grass the bulk of them hover right on
the bottom in about 1 to 2 foot of water. A fisherman that is skilled in regards to
throwing a cast net should be able to catch quite a few great size bait shrimp during
this time. It is a mixed bag catching affair at this time. We are catching a mixture
of assorted sizes of white and brown shrimp while casting in about one to two feet
of water.
It is a great time of the year to purchase and catch your own live shrimp!
While inshore fishing with Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters
Emma Gracen Effingham had a catching ball. And she listened and did
everything right! Emma is holding a nice spotted sea trout!

could be more catching involved than just fishing!

Freshies Report by Captain Mickey Holbrook Miss Judy Charter’s freshwater
connection!
My Cuz Captain Mickey Holbrook owner and operator of MAD GILLZ Fishing
Guide Service! Captain Cuz is a member in very good standing with the gangster
side of our family! And that is all I am going to say about that! And the best news
is none of us have done any sort of prison time! Captain Mickey is also old time
fishing friends with Captain Garrett Ross of Miss Judy Charters
So therefore any of you want to do a little fresh water fishing I highly suggest
giving Captain Mickey Holbrook owner operator of MAD GILLZ Fishing Guide
Service a call. (470 262 6035) There are two things that we know for a fact ...and
what is that? Our Lake Lanier fresh water connection is Cuz Captain Mickey
Holbrook! And I approved this message times two!
Little Miss Judy’s Believe It Or Not!
Check out this old style ship, which was approaching the Savannah River way
back when! I think that this picture was taken in the early seventies while the
photographer was in my wooden boat Miss Judy. As a small child when a ship
would pass us looking very similar to this one, my father would say that it was
loaded with long horn cattle. According to my father the rigging was there to
remove the cows one at a time. Every time my father would say this my
imagination went complete wildly. I was very familiar with the phase the cow
jumped over the moon! As a child in the fifties who had not?
Argentina snakes on a ship!
I have to share this wild story with you! Many Many years ago a
representative, I think, from Georgia Pacific went on my boat to do a
little fishing. His main goal was to treat a few of his clients to a fishing
trip. All that boarded was very nice! We had a wonderful time talking
and catching fish!
As usual conversation ranged from fishing to work and back! And then
we all could see a ship in the distance and this is where this conversation
went from that point. According to one of the guest on board when
shipments arrived for their business from argentine lots of plans had to
be made. So of course, I had to ask what they meant by this! And here’s
how the story went....
Ships along with their crews on board hauling stumps from Argentina
once arriving to Savannah’s port would have to jump through many
hoops of regulations. Once the ship arrived to the port, the crew had to
be quarantined and the ship had to be exterminated. I wasn’t too
shocked about the quarantine of the crew. I was more shocked about
the extermination of the ship and why? And this is where the story gets
real interesting. The stumps shipped in from Argentina normally had
lots of snake inhabitants. According to the story told most of the snakes
were on the poisonous side!
While this story was being told my mind was racing with its own
processing of this story! Already the vision of snakes crawling out and
about was on my mind. However, according to those telling this story
the ship’s hole was sealed until it arrived to its destination! Once again
my mind was in overdrive with this ideal of snakes in stumps.
After the ship was docked, the crew was removed, and a serious
extermination process began. Once the ship was cleared proper
equipment arrived to start the stump removal process. Quite often as the
stumps were being removed snakes of various sizes basically hung out in
a very limb state. Some of the snakes were barely moving while others
were just swinging in the wind. My imagination was on wide open
mode!
As I listened I had a few questions, which I most likely already really
knew the answers. So to start with I asked, “Have they ever found any
snakes out of the containment hole?” The reply was simple, “Yes for
sure!” So I had to say, “Well, we got snakes on a plane, we got snakes
on a train and now we got snakes on the ship!” And just when I
thought it was safe on the ocean from snakes, now I got to worry about
this! Holy Mackerel!
Thanks for reading! Captain Judy
