Happy February! First Kids are rockin’ and rollin’ into the New Year! Our Sunday school clas-ses are continuing their unit on “Worshiping with Gladness”. In February we will be learning about the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. We are having such fun learning about all the different aspects of worship. Children’s church is all about creation this month! We will be learning all about how God guides us, how he wants us to be peacemakers, about how sometimes God surprises us, and how He wants us to be encouragers. In Fundamentals on Wednesday evening we are learning all about the Fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gen-tleness and self-control! We can all use a little more of those! Please place on all your calendars the dates of June 4-8. VBS is coming and it’s time to start planning! We will be doing “Maker Fun Factory, Created by God and Built for a Purpose” this year. Imagine a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they’re lovingly crafted by God! I love VBS, and as you know this is a major event in the life of the church. Please help us to make this an amazing experience for our children and children of our community. Planning meetings will begin soon! Lastly, as we approach Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to remember the God who loves you more than life itself. Give thanks for Him, and ask your children “What can we do this year to show God how much we love Him?” “But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant. “Do you hear what these children are say-ing?” they asked him. “Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,” ‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise’?” Matthew 21:15-16

Sunday school (9:45 hour)

We are currently learning about worship and what it means to worship in many ways. All the different aspects of worship can be a mys-tery to many—so we will be learning what they mean and why we do them. Through bible verses, crafts, music and role playing we will learn about worship here and around the world; the sacraments—what are they? Which do we observe as United Methodists and how? Who are our Worship leaders and what do they do? What are the symbols we use in worship and what do they mean? How do we worship through music? What is the Lord’s prayer? The Apostle’s Creed? Why do the the para-ment colors change? What are the church seasons? Why are there two candles on the Lord’s table?.....and more! So many questions! Let’s find the answers!

Children’s Church Children’s Church Children’s Church Children’s Church (11:00 hour)

We will be learning from the stories and biblical characters in Genesis about God’s creation and caring for God’s world. We will be learning all about how God guides us, how he wants us to be peacemakers, about how sometimes God surprises us, and how He wants us to be encouragers.

Fundamentals (Wednesdays)

February continues with a really fun series of lessons on the Fruits of the Spirit.

We will be “Cooking with Je-sus,” and learning about all the Fruits of the Spirit and why they are important to live by. Each lesson will focus on one of the Fruits of the Spirit and will include a fun snack that we will make together to help us re-

member each of them. The lessons will be on love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithful-ness and self-control. All great traits to have! Join us Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
