ObjectivesProvide Knowledge, competence, and confidence to do the following:
1. Describe the epidemiological bases for malaria control and elimination. 2. Give an account on the historical background, lessons learnt and
current concepts of malaria elimination.3. Identify areas in which malaria elimination may be feasible with
currently available tools.4. Describe the basic principles of malaria elimination in order to develop
a national programme, or modify an existing programme, to eliminate malaria in a particular area.
5. Design strategies and approaches to achieve the objectives set.6. Write a plan for malaria elimination including operational targets,
activities, milestones and monitoring and evaluation.
