In general, the delivery date determines the year in which the contribution can be claimed as a deduction. If gifts of cash are mailed, the date of mailing is the delivery date. More specifically, checks mailed with a postmark of December 31, 2015 will be credited as a contribution in 2015. we try to meet the needs of a family member. As a certified

Geriatric Care Manager, Ruth Rothbart-Mayer will lead a

discussion on navigating the problems of care giving and finding

the balance. Ms. Rothbart-Mayer comes to us as a volunteer

from the United Way of Northern New Jersey's Caregiver Coalition. We met Ms.

Mayer in October when our Stephen Ministry hosted a networking meeting of

SOUP KITCHEN NEWS The Pans are Out!! We are getting ready for another Saturday at Our

Lady of the Valley Soup Kitchen on April 25th. The menu is: sloppy joes, chips

and pasta salad, along with our regulars: hard boiled eggs, cookies, tossed salad

and fruit. Come one, come all. Pick up a pan, or to serve in person, call or email

You, our volunteers, make a difference in the lives of so many people and we are

grateful for all you do.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY NEWS

KIDS KART - We hope you will check out our Kids Kart at the back of the sanctuary.

The Kids Kart has activity books, crayons, and books for children to enjoy during the

worship service. Please take what you would like, but remember to return the crayons

at the end of the service!

SUNDAY SCHOOL OFFERING - Each week our children are encouraged to bring in

their own offering to give during Sunday School. This year our offering will be

collected in a swirling wishing well, so coins are welcome and encouraged! This

year our Sunday School offering will go to provide scholarships for a week of

summer camp at Camp Johnsonburg to children in need.

CABIN FEVER DAY - Wednesday, December 30th - 9:00AM-3:00PM - All

children in Kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to join us for a fun at

church! We will be playing games, doing crafts, watching movies and spending

time with friends! Plan to bring a sack lunch. Sign up with Jaime Staehle, or

Registration Forms are on the Christian Ed desk.

YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

ALL YOUTH CHRISTMAS BREAK LUNCH AND MOVIE - Tuesday, December

29th - 12:00-4:00PM - All 6th-12th graders are invited to join us for lunch at the

diner and then a movie at Caldwell Theater after. Please let Jaime know if you can

attend!

SR. HIGH CHRISTMAS HIBACHI LUNCH - Sunday, December 27th - 11:30AM -

Please let Jaime or Dave know if you are planning to join us! Bring $20 for lunch.

SOUP KITCHEN NEWS December 26th was the last Soup Kitchen of 2015. We

thank all who participated in making this ministry one of the most

successful at First Pres. This is the time of year when we can spread

some extra love and kindness, especially to those who do not have

much. Our next Soup Kitchen will be on January 23rd. Let us serve

in the name of the Lord.

SANDWICH NIGHT IS COMING Our Jr. & Sr. High Youth coupled with our Confirmation

class will be hosting Sandwich Night on January 6th, at 6:30PM in

Fellowship Hall. We extend an invitation to our family and

friends from the congregation to join us and share in the Fellowship

with new friends and old.

We will be preparing over 400 bagged lunch's to benefit St.

John's Soup Kitchen in Newark. We look forward to seeing you all

LOCAL FOOD PANTRY NEEDS YOUR HELP YOU CAN HELP THE HUNGRY IN CALDWELL AND WEST CALDWELL

Did you know that the Caldwell Food Pantry now serves 80

families with children each week? Due to increased need, The Caldwell

Food Pantry is experiencing a shortage of staples important for each needy

family. In January we will be collecting hearty soups, but any donations are

always welcome. If you can help please drop off the items in the marked bins

located throughout he church.

Hint: Take advantage of store sale items and manufactures coupons that

will help make your contribution donation dollars go even further!
