Fire Chiefs Report

1) Please find two attachments which contain pricing and information on a software

program specifically for fire departments. Currently I use Microsoft Word and Excel to

log various reports, training, etc. and save them to either a file on my computer and or

print and save them that way. As seen in the information provided, this work can all be

done using this software, making it much easier to file and track. My recommendation is

to purchase the FirePro2 Lite version at a one time start up cost of $1995.00 with an

annual maintenance cost of $586.00. Additional features can be added at a later date as

required. It would make sense to purchase this now and have it in place for use starting

January the 1st 2015.

2) On September the 22nd , a meeting took place with McKee Pipeline Consulting Inc Sandy

Mckee ( hired by Enbridge Pipelines) and Middlesex County Emergency Management

Personnel, which included Bettina Weber, John Elston, Steve Beatty, Chris Traini, Iqbal,

Pat Simone, and myself. Purpose of the meeting was to be advised on pipeline safety,

mapping, emergency action plans and more. We were left with a booklet on important

safety information for first responders, along with a USB stick containing same and more

information. Similar meetings have and will take place with EMS, OPP and Roads

Supervisors. Training exercises will take place in the near future with all first responders

and CEMC's.

3) Currently reviewing the Adelaide W G MacDonald School's emergency and fire safety

plan. On September the 24th , I observed their fire drill. On Oct the 10th the fire

department will be doing a presentation for their kindergarten to grade four as a part of

fire prevention week, which is October the 5th to the 11th . We will also being doing a

presentation at the North Caradoc Public School, as some of our residences children

attend that school. I have consulted Strathroy-Caradoc Fire Chief Brian George on this,

and their fire department is going to work with us on this as this school is in their

municipality.

4) On October the 231d , I will be doing a training session for the MLHU CERV team again at

the Kerwood Fire Hall.

5) Also as part of fire prevention week, the fire department put an article in the Watford

Guide.
