Findings: An Aging Nation Older population is projected to nearly double, growing from 43 Million in 2012 to 84 Million in 2050. By 2030, one in five Americans will be 65 years or older. Growth in the older population will be driven by the aging of the baby boomers over the next two decades.

Findings: An Aging Nation The population aged 65 and older is projected to be 39% minority in 2050, up from 21% in 2012. Despite the increase in the share of the U.S. population that is in the older ages, the nation is projected to remain one of the youngest developed countries in the world.
