Alex Keever, Business Intelligence Strategist, Ultimate Software A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Alex holds an engineering degree from

decade of that experience has been immersed in reporting and

Barbara Canup, Director, Accretive Solutions With over 25 years of experience in financial reporting, auditing and
consulting, Barbara coordinates the technical team for the Bay Area
offices of Accretive Solutions, addressing the impact of new
regulatory guidance and developing training for consultants and
clients. She also provides consulting services to clients in the areas of
revenue recognition, complex debt and equity transactions, stock-
based compensation, business combinations, fair value accounting and
IFRS convergence. Previously, she managed financial reporting
groups for high-tech companies, including Intel Corporation, and was
Director of Mutual Fund Reporting for Fidelity Investments in Boston.
Bryan Walker, Director, Houlihan Lokey Mr. Walker is a Director in Houlihan Lokey’s Transaction Advisory
Services group based in the San Francisco office. He focuses on
merger and acquisition advisory and due diligence assistance for both
strategic and financial buyers. Mr. Walker has led due diligence
assistance engagements for proposed acquisitions of companies in
aerospace and defense, government services, industrial products,
media and publishing, telecommunications, and software, in
transactions ranging in value from $5 million to $6 billion. He has led
teams on several cross-border transactions and has performed
engagements in Europe and Asia. In addition to providing due
diligence assistance, he has developed financial models for business
plans, and provided strategic advice to clients pursuing acquisitions.
Caz Hashemi, Partner, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Caz Hashemi is a litigation partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich &
Rosati. Caz focuses primarily on representing companies and their
officers and directors in securities and commercial litigation, SEC
enforcement and Department of Justice investigations, corporate
internal investigations, and regulatory enforcement proceedings.
During his career, Caz has taken a lead role in representing over 45
companies in government investigations and served as personal
counsel for over 100 individuals before the SEC and the Department
of Justice. Caz has extensive experience in government investigations
involving financial reporting and accounting fraud allegations,
disclosure issues, potential insider trading violations, and potential
violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Christopher Forrester, Partner, Morrison Foerster Mr. Forrester’s practice focuses on the representation of public and
private companies and investment banks in general corporate and
finance matters, with an emphasis on mergers, acquisitions and
strategic transactions, public and private securities offerings and
corporate governance and compliance. Mr. Forrester’s experience
includes transactions in multiple industries, including, technology,
telecommunications, action sports, transportation, hardware, life
sciences, pharmaceutical, cleantech, industrial, food service, insurance

Claudia Spencer, Partner, BDO Claudia has over 25 years of public accounting experience and
specializes in the software/technology, specialty foods, consumer,
manufacturing & distribution and services industries. She is the Bay
Area Practice Leader for the Employee Benefit Plan and Not-for-Profit
practices. Her clients have ranged from small businesses to large
diversified multinational entities. Claudia has substantial experience in
SEC filings, initial public offerings, private placements, stock options
and complex debt/equity transactions. Claudia is involved in the
Firm’s Continuing Professional Education program as an instructor
and coordinator, and has spoken before other organizations on a

David Pefley, CFO, Adaptive Planning David has more than 30 years of senior level finance experience
managing rapid growth for leading public and private technology
companies. As a long-time CFO and finance professional, he is keenly
aware of the challenges that CFOs face in managing better planning,
forecasting, analysis, and business performance as well as the benefits
of the Adaptive Planning solution in driving speed, accuracy, and
productivity into the process. He is adept in formulating business
strategies, utilizing teamwork and planning to succeed in competitive

Faisal Jeddy, Partner, SOAProjects Practice Leader at SOAProjects for Technical Accounting and
Financial Reporting Advisory Services. Faisal's main area of focus is
to provide advisory services to public and private companies,
especially those that are in the technology sphere - software, semi-
conductor, web applications and professional services. Faisal has a
well-rounded technical background in several complicated areas of
accounting, including valuation of inventory, revenue recognition,
restructuring, software development costs, and complex equity and
debt instruments. Faisal was previously an Audit Partner with BDO
USA LLP and Seiler LLP. At Seiler, Faisal was the Industry Leader

Garrett Herbert, Managing Partner, Deloitte Garrett leads the Silicon Valley M&A Transaction Services practice
in San Jose, CA and is the national leader for M&A Transaction
Services for the Telecom, Media, and Technology industry group.
Garrett has over 13 years of dedicated M&A experience. He has
extensive transaction experience in advising financial and strategic
buyers on due diligence, accounting structuring and financial
reporting aspects of transactions in technology, software, and
internet services transactions both domestically and internationally.
In addition to his M&A experience with Deloitte, Garrett has M&A
experience as an investment professional in industry with Mentmore
Holdings Corporation (a private equity group), Stellex Technologies,
and Register.com (NASDAQ: RCOM) where he was responsible for
target evaluation, due diligence, divestitures, and post-transaction

Helen Kane, President, Hedge Trackers Helen Kane, President, founded Hedge Trackers, LLC in April 2000.
Her duties involve monitoring FASB/IASB pronouncements,
reaching out to accounting firm derivative accounting specialists,
overseeing auditor and SEC responses, and consulting with clients

and leads the Forensic team in KPMG’s Silicon Valley office. She
has recently been named the Partner in Charge of Corporate
Responsibility for the office. Jennifer brings 20 years of experience
performing investigative, dispute advisory, fraud risk management,
and regulatory compliance support services. She provides
investigative skills and the analysis of economic, accounting, and
statistical issues for the benefit of her clients – which include
corporations, law firms, and corporate boards.
Josette Ferrer, Managing Partner, Clairent Advisors Josette Ferrer is the founder, CEO, and a Managing Director of
Clairent Advisors, a valuation firm which serves Fortune 500 firms
as well as smaller entrepreneurial companies. She has more than
fifteen years of experience providing valuations in support of
financial statement reporting and tax planning. Prior to founding
Clairent Advisors, Josette was the U.S. Practice Leader of Marsh's
Valuation Services Group. Her career includes serving as the
Managing Director responsible for starting the S.F. Valuation
Services Group of WTAS, Inc., a former subsidiary of HSBC Group.
Justin Truscott, Senior Manager, Deloitte Justin is a senior manager in the accounting standards, policies,
guidance and communications group in San Francisco. He has been
with Deloitte for ten years, spending the last seven years dedicated to
assisting both clients and Deloitte professionals on a variety of issues
pertaining to IFRS. Justin is originally from the Deloitte South
Africa office where he was part of the national IFRS technical
accounting group. He has worked in various Deloitte locations
around the world and more recently was part of the Deloitte Global
IFRS Leadership Team based in London, whose primary
responsibilities include determining global Deloitte positions on
complex IFRS accounting questions escalated to it from DTTL
member firms worldwide, as well as providing consistent input and
comments into the activities and documents released by the
International Accounting Standards Board.
Kamran Husain, Chief Accounting Officer, Silicon Valley Bank Kamran Husain has spent his career in the financial services sector,
and joined SVB Financial Group in September 2008 as the
Company’s Chief Accounting Officer. In this role, he is responsible
for managing all accounting controllership activities for US and
Global businesses, SEC and Bank Regulatory Reporting, Financial
Risks and Controls (including SOX), Finance BPO operations and
Insurance Risk Management. Kamran is responsible for
implementing and ensuring compliance with all accounting policies,
statutory reporting considerations and controls framework for the
enterprise. He chairs SVB’s Disclosure and SOX Committees, is one
of the primary Finance liaisons with the Board of Directors’ Audit
and Compensation Committees and serves as a member of various
management committees at the Company.
Manpreet Grover, Managing Partner, SOAProjects Manpreet is CEO and Managing Partner of SOAProjects, Inc,
managing the day to day operations of the Company and is
responsible for managing a variety of clients in the high tech,
software, retail and services industries. She is a natural leader who
brings thought leadership, critical thinking, strong project
management skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills to each
engagement. She has developed numerous project plans and works
diligently to ensure each client receives the skill level required for
each engagement.
Mark Hyde, Senior Manager, Deliotte Mark is a Transfer Pricing Senior Manager in Deloitte’s San Jose,
California office. Mark has over thirteen years of experience in the
field of transfer pricing (over twelve years in Silicon Valley) during
which time he has addressed issues in such diverse industries as
semiconductors and semiconductor manufacturing equipment,
software and online services, medical and measurement equipment,
biotech and pharmaceuticals, agricultural products and chemicals,
entertainment, and construction. He has directed and contributed to
project work consisting of the preparation of transfer pricing
documentation in multinational jurisdictions, planning analyses to
facilitate IP-related and operational restructuring, intangible asset
valuations, implementation of cost sharing arrangements, and
analyses of centralized services cost allocations.
Michael Kruse, Treasurer, Silicon Valley Bank Michael D. Kruse is treasurer of SVB Financial Group. In this role,
he is responsible for managing all treasury functions at SVB
covering corporate investments, equity warrants, interest rate risk
management and strategic planning for capital and liquidity. He is
responsible for implementing corporate strategies that address and
support planned business growth, regulatory and rating agency
considerations. He chairs SVBs Asset Liability Committee, is a
liaison with the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors and
serves as a member on various management committees at the Bank.
Rick Brounstein, Managing Director, The Emmes Group Rick has over thirty years of operational and CFO-level financial leadership expertise with emerging growth companies and Smaller Public Companies within the software and medical device areas. He is Managing Director of The Emmes Group, a strategic business development, assessment and planning organization specializing in
the support of firms engaged in the technology, internet, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He holds a BA in Accounting and an MBA in Finance from Michigan State University, has Big ‘4’ background and a CPA Certificate. He was a member of the elite SEC Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies and is currently a member of the COSO task force updating the standards widely used in today’s SOX §404 internal control compliance.
Randall Bolten, CFO, Lucidity Randall Bolten is the author of Painting with Numbers: Presenting
Financials and Other Numbers So People Will Understand You. He
runs Lucidity, a consulting practice based in Menlo Park, California
focused on short engagements with specific deliverables, including
business models, reporting packages, and incentive compensation
packages. His 30-year career as a financial executive in Silicon
Valley includes nearly 20 years as chief financial officer for both
public companies (BroadVision and Phoenix Technologies) and
startups. He has also held senior financial management positions at
Oracle and Tandem Computers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree
from Princeton University and an MBA from Stanford University.
Scott Angel, Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP
Based in the Silicon Valley practice, Scott leads Deloitte’s
Semiconductor Industry Group and serves as an industry resource to
many teams both locally and internationally. He has more than 32
years of experience, including 30 years with Deloitte dedicated to
high technology clients in the Silicon Valley. His experience
includes assisting numerous companies with initial and secondary
public offerings, SEC filings, mergers and acquisitions, as well as
responses to SEC comments and assistance with SEC conferences.
Scott consults with his clients on revenue recognition policies,
strategic relationships, and other complex transactions. His clients
have ranged from start-ups to multibillion dollar companies.
Sudha Chadalavada, President, CEO - The Cosmic Group, LLC.
Sudha is a California CPA and a Certified fraud examiner currently
is an expert managing the SEC, Sox, Technical Accounting and
Stock administration aspects of various publicly traded companies.
Sudha has over fifteen years of experience in accounting and finance
and had held several board positions on various non-profit
educational associations. Sudha has extensive and broad range of
work experience including external audit, private company
controllership and public company regulatory compliance and
reporting. Sudha is the currently the chairman of the professional
development committee at FEI Silicon Valley Chapter.
Susan Holmes, Senior Manager, Accretive Solutions Susan Holmes has been with Accretive Solutions since 2006 and
currently serves as one of its lead Revenue Recognition consultants.
She has held many Finance and Accounting roles throughout her
career, including an overseas assignment in Hong Kong. Over the
last seven years, Susan's focus has been on Revenue Recognition
assisting and advising companies and specifically with contract
negotiations, establishing policies, determining VSOE, reporting,
and system implementations for both private and publicly-held
companies with unique and complex business models. She holds an
MBA from Cornell University.
Terry Mead, Principal, Solutions2Projects Terri Mead is a professional project manager (PMP) with over 15
years of experience selecting and implementing IT related systems
for biotech and medical device companies. Ms. Mead has selected
and/or implemented multiple ERP systems including JDEdwards,
Oracle, Ross, Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and QAD. While Ms.
Mead’s experience has been primarily in life sciences, her focus is
on good business practices that support compliance requirements.
Prior to implementing systems, Ms. Mead was a controller for a
small company in the East Bay and was a staff accountant for a small
CPA firm. Her passion is to leverage technology to improve business
processes. Ms. Mead has been consulting for her own company,
Solutions2Projects, LLC for eight years.
Tony Riley, Vice President, The Emmes Group Tony has been the CFO and corporate controller of public companies
and has extensive consulting experience at companies based in
Silicon Valley. His consulting practice has focused on Sarbanes-
Oxley compliance and SEC reporting at companies such as TIBCO
Software, SumTotal Systems, SGI, NewCardio, Oplink
Communications, Oclaro, LookSmart and Visa USA. He has
extensive experience presenting to Audit Committees and
participating at speaker panels. He holds a MBA from the University
of Chicago and holds the CPA ,CIA and CMA designations.
Yuko Wakasugi, Partner, SOAProjects, Inc.
Yuko Wakasugi is the partner in charge of Technical Accounting and
Financial Reporting at SOAProjects. At SOAProjects, her clients
include both public and private companies in various industries with
a heavy focus in the high-technology industry, including SaaS,
software embedded in hardware type of companies, and on-line
media companies. Yuko brings over 20 years of experience to her
clients, and she has been assisting clients in various capacities,
including pre-IPO companies, drafting the S-1, F-pages, MD&A, and
assisting companies in sanitizing their numbers to comply with U.S.
GAAP and meet all reporting requirements.
