TRANSCRIPT
Finally some cool weather. Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful fall.
Father Rob Henley continues to serve us well on the altar. He is also in the office two days a week and has been
meeting with parishioners as requested. Please make an appointment with Rob if you would like to meet up with him.
We are still waiting to hear on the ordination day for Jim and Gigi. So in the meantime we continue to enjoy the bless-
ing of having three clergy serving our congregation.
As you are reading this, we are probably preparing for Fall BBQ. I hope all of you have signed up for a task. And that
once again we have a successful BBQ. Better yet, I hope that it is all over by the time you are reading this!! Thanks to
all who give up their time and talents to make this such a big success twice a year.
We have made a change to the Worship Committee. Dillon Wines has taken over this ministry and has also taken over
the Rota. I appreciate his efforts on all fronts. We will be using local florists for altar flowers from now until after the
first of the new year. Dillon asks that if you have any questions or comments on the weekly flowers that you contact
him directly. Also, Dillon will be asking for help with Advent and Christmas greens and flowers when the time gets clos-
er. Thanks for your support during this time of transition.
With Dillon taking over Worship, Parish Life is now under the care of Dillon, Bill Mitrik and Sam Neil. They will be
contacting you with any needs that come up.
ECW had a rummage sale to replenish its funds used for this year’s Camp Billy Johnson. We needed to raise $1200 and
as of this time, we have raised $1249! I love it when a plan comes together. This was a big endeavor, as most of you
know who saw the undercroft before the sale. Thanks to all for your donations. And thanks so much for all the men and
women who helped to unpack and organize all the merchandise. And to all those that helped the day of the sale. And
then finally, to those who helped clean up afterwards.
The Administrative Committee will be putting together a list of candidates for next year’s Vestry. They are also working
a list of delegates for next year’s Diocesan Convention. More on this later.
All other ministries continue to work hard to do the ministry of our Church.
Thank you to everyone!
Thanks for continuing to fill the pews and the collection basket.
Marylou Mauney, Senior Warden

October 2016 Page 3
There will be no Agape dinner on October 5th
so that the parish hall can be prepared for the Fall BBQ.
So the food bags for Food on Foot (FOF) will be filled on October 12th and October 19th. The
fourth Saturday in October is October 22nd. If you have not taken the time to help with handing
out the bags at FOF give it some thought. It only takes about 2 hours of your time and is well
worth it. Carolyn and Bob Jarnagin have identified a real need for our community and have figured
out a way to help children who are hungry. The inspiration for FOF came about when Carolyn
asked a child if he was excited about being out of school for the summer. The child's response
was, "No Ma'am, I get to eat at school."
There will be an Agape meal every Wednesday in October of course except October 5th which
was mentioned above. On October 19th the guest for the evening will be Martha Lionberger with
Noah's Arc. She will be on hand to do a brief presentation and hand out information about
Noah's Arc. If you have questions about the organization or just want to learn more about them
this is a good opportunity to do both. Thanks to all the parishioners who brought food or bedding
for the September drive for Noah's Arc.
Bingo for the Morristown Housing Authority is happening on October 12th at high noon. A good
time was had by folks from the Morristown Housing Authority and All Saints' Parishioners. All
Saints' BBQ is a decided favorite of the Morristown Housing Authority folks. If you would like to
come and eat and help with food preparation and Bingo, you are more than welcome. My
understanding is that Marylou will be back doing the calling.
Every month I say thank you to the parishioners because you are the reason Outreach is in any
way successful with what it does. Without your presence it will not get done. So Thanks again.
Outreach Committee members: Ginger Goolsby, Cookie Larken, John Hutchins, Sue Justis, Jackie
Flemming, Marylou Mauney and Larry McGowan.

The Evangelism Committee meets every first Monday of each month at 6pm, in the Memorial Room, unless otherwise noted. (Next is October 3rd.) Cindy Selby is the Vestry Liaison for this Committee, until she rotates off the Vestry at the time of the Annual Meeting in January 2017, and she currently serves as Chair of the Committee. Other members of the Evangelism Committee are John Hutchins, Bill
Mitrik, Mary Ann Mills, Martha Simerl, and Carolyn Dean.
At Rally Day, the following people indicated a desire to help with evangelism projects this year, and we welcome them and their ideas, energy, and talents: (Newcomer Welcome Packets) Bill Mitrik, Cindy Selby, Shamron Stambaugh, Mark Joyce; (Visitor Bread Bakers) Martha Simerl, Jamia Blazer, Mary Zabrosky, Lena Giles, Mark Joyce; (Shepherding Newcomers/Newcomers’ Dinners) Cindy & Henry Selby, Robin & Gary Miller, Judy Bartholomew, Sue Justis, Lena Giles, Judy Carter; (Visitor Follow-Up) Cindy Selby, Lena Giles; (Project Canterbury/Adopt a College Student) Cindy & Henry Selby, John Hutchins, Ruth Frederick; (Out & About) Sarah Gose, Cindy Selby, Lauren Cordle, Mark Joyce, Sue Justis, John Hutchins, George & Lena Giles.
Remember, though, that the work of evangelism is really something we have ALL been called to do, in our own ways, to welcome new faces, and to tell people we meet about our faith and about All Saints’ Episcopal Church.
We still have plenty of the “We are All Saints” t-shirts in most sizes, including children’s sizes. They are $15 each for adult sizes, and $9 each for children’s sizes. We encourage everyone to wear them when out in the community, especially our Out & About gatherings. Proceeds from the sales of the shirts will help fund our next project: Newcomer Welcome Packets, which we hope to start handing out to new folks by the end of the year.
Carolyn Dean is our Parish website guru, but she needs all committees to send her articles and photographs about upcoming events, which she will put up on the website. Maintaining an active presence on the web is very important for reaching newcomers (and for keeping all of us informed), but it is especially important for us now, during our search for a new Rector, as candidates for that position will be checking us out online.
We will also be working to increase our marketing this year, by advertising upcoming teachings and other offerings in more detail, because we really have some cool things going on here, and we want more folks to know about them! One new way we hope to get the word out is to utilize our new smart tv in the Parish Hall, by scrolling a slideshow of upcoming events during Coffee Hour and before and between Sunday services and on Wednesday nights.

Dear Friends! Your Search Committee, again, thanks you for your prayers and patience! By the time you read this we will have met with Canon Grace regarding our recent Search for our Rector position. We have been assured by the Bishop and the Canon we do have some candidates and will shortly begin the interview process. Bishop George, Canon Grace and our consultant, Maggie, have all been working diligently to market us to
many Dioceses and personal friends. We are so fortunate that we have a church of interest to candidates and we live in an area that is welcoming. We are all encouraged as we move forward! Continue to pray that our Spiritual Leader is now out there waiting for us! We appreciate
your patience and prayers! Please take the opportunity to read the Search Committee Prayer in the front of your All Saints’ Profile or look it up on our website! We may have been charged with this search but it is your prayers that sustain us! Thank You! Your Search Committee: Judy Potter-Yates; Jack Fishman; Virginia Carey; Jason Dockery; Susan Fuhr; George Giles; Marylou Mauney; Harold Nich-ols; Wayne Stambaugh

The BBQ Prayer
Heavenly Father,
The Epistle tells us, “Faith without works is dead.”
As we are prayerfully called to your service for another All Saints BBQ let us be mindful of our purpose.
We ask your strength for our efforts. Keep us safe in our activities. Renew old friendships, kindle new ones.
Let this be more than 5000 lbs, more than 100 gallons, more than thousands of dollars of outreach. You ask us to change the whole world, but only require that we do it one relationship at a time.
Send your Holy Spirit to set our hearts on fire for your service.
