What is a Blog?

A Blog is short for Web log.Blogs are simply journals on the internet, written by any person interested in a

specific subject, and it is usually updated daily. Since it is like an open diary, it is informal and chronological.People who blog are known as bloggers.Of course blogs could be good or bad and that depend on the blogger who

typically could be anonymous.

• Who uses Blogs? And why?

1. Corporations. Corporations could use Blogs to harness information, and know about

what people in the company know. When a employee attends a seminar, he or she can share notes and information on a Blog.

Also corporations are looking to ensure that information is located in a central place. This will ensure that information is not only kept with a single employee who might one day leave the corporation.

2. Small businesses.

It is cheaper for a small business to start a blog than to open a store. It reduce the risk of failing, because selling products online is less expensive than opening a store.

The business will expand faster over the internet and more people would come familiar with the business.

Also it’s a great way for the business owner to communicate with the customer and get feedback.

3. Ordinary people.

People could setup blogs to share their thoughts and interest over the internet. If a person is passionate about something, whether it’s a hobby or just about their daily life, they cold post it on a blog and see what others think.

A lot of people who are abroad start blogs so that family and friends can keep in touch and are updated with what is going on in their lives. It is much faster than writing letters.

People who blog could be teenagers, mothers, interior designers, artists or even employees.
