Making Sew N’ Flip Triangles
Draw a diagonal line on the back of a 21/2” square. Layer the square, right sides together, onto a rectangle. Sew on the drawn line.
Trim ¼” from the sewn line. Press the corner open to reveal the triangle.
Quilt is 56" x 64". Read all instructions before beginning this project. All instructions include a ¼” seam allowanceWOF = Width of fabric.

FROM THE JELLY ROLL PRINTS: Each tree is made up of a left block and a right block. Two blocks make one tree. Twelve tree blocks make up the quilt.
Note: To duplicate the cover quilt illustration, divide the prints into 4 groups; a red group, a green group, a black group and an ivory group. Choose 6 or 7 prints within a color group for each block. Duplicate prints within a block are ok.

Sew together as desired into one long strip.
CUTTING AND CONSTRUCTION
Use ¼" seams and press in the direction of the arrows.
1 Make Left Tree Blocks:

(A) Use the triangle method illustrated in the “Making Sew N’ Flip Triangles” instructions to make the 7 rows of the left side of the block. Sew the triangle blocks first, then sew them to the background rectangles.
B) Sew the rows together to make the left half of the tree. Repeat to make a total of 12 left blocks.

FABRIC REQUIREMENTS
TREES: 1 Print Jelly Roll* Tole Christmas (SKU 10050JR)
BACKGROUND AND BORDERS: (Bella Solid 9900 67)1 Jelly Roll (25 strips) + 1 yard (for borders) or 3 yards
BINDING: 1/2 yard (SKU 10053 14) or 7 of the remaining Jelly Roll strips
BATTING: 64” X 72”
BACKING: 4 yards
Note: the Jelly Roll will include 40 strips of various prints. This project uses 28 strips (one of each print) to make up the trees. You will have left over strips.
*Jelly Roll = (40) 21/2" x 42" strips
3 Assemble the blocks:(A) With right sides together, sew a right block to a
left block along the center of the tree.
(B) Repeat to make a total of 12 tree blocks.
(C) Sew together blocks in rows of three. Then sew together the rows. Quilt top, without borders, should measure 561/2” X 481/2”.
4 Add borders:
5 Finishing:
(A) Piece together 41/2'' border strips to make two side borders, each at least 561/2'' long. Sew borders to the left and right edges of the quilt.
B) Piece together 41/2'' border strips to make the top and bottom borders, each at least 561/2” long. Sew borders to the left and right edges of the quilt.
Layer, quilt and bind.
