IMPACTING THE CHANGING WORLD OF PHILANTHROPYTHE HILTON CHICAGO | OCTOBER 30 - NOVEMBER 1, 2017

SUMMIT 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY

1

I hope you join me Monday night at our special President’s

Reception: Celebrating 10 Years of AASP for a lively

event befitting of the significant milestones we’ve reached.

On Tuesday, I encourage you to enjoy lunch with your

peers and find out what AASP is doing to further both our

organization and the advancement services profession at our

AASP Recognition and Business Meeting Luncheon. During

the luncheon, we will make a special announcement that

sets the stage for the future of the organization, so this is one

gathering you won’t want to miss.

Summit 2017 is all about exploring how you can impact the

changing world of philanthropy. With relevant educational

tracks filled with engaging, expert presentations and thoughtful

discussions, we hope to inspire you to not only advance

your organization, but also your professional and personal

development. Our keynote speakers, Jennifer Mulholland and

Jeff Shuck of Plenty, will show you how to go beyond the data in

your head to the intuition in your heart—the key to making your

work more fulfilling, meaningful, and impactful.

During breaks and free time, I hope you visit the Exhibit Hall

to connect with our sponsors. Also, be sure to join fellow

attendees at networking dinners on Tuesday night to form

deeper connections with your peers.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the passionate

board members, volunteers, and staff for planning what

promises to be our most memorable Summit thus far. It takes

an immense amount of collaboration to prepare and host

Summit each year, and I truly appreciate every individual

effort. I am thrilled you have joined us for another year of

professional development, networking, and fun.

Let’s get the celebration started!

Sincerely,

Anita Lawson, AASP PresidentDirector, Development OperationsLos Angeles Philharmonic Association

WELCOME TO OUR 10 th ANNIVERSARY SUMMIT!It’s incredible to realize that our association for advancement services professionals,

started by just seven individuals in February 2007, has grown to over 1,200 members

and counting. Our annual conference continues to break attendance records

year after year and Summit 2017, with more than 500 in attendance, is no exception.

It is certainly time to celebrate!

• Lynne Becker

• Scott Fendley

• Gail A. Ferris, MBA, JD

A special thanks to the seven individuals who met on February 10, 2007 in Chicago to discuss the merits of forming a professional membership organization for the world of advancement services.
