The starting idea

• The IWB (and the technology in general), as new and innovative as it is, cannot itself change the didactics, but that it may be an opportunity to rethink the teaching and so to innovate the didactics.

• ‘Using ICT effectively in schools is about more than changing resources; it is about changing practices and culture’ (BECTA, 2007).

The Training Programme Approach

• ACTION RESEARCH - combination of theoretical training with practical training on the job

• COLLABORATIVE LEARNING - reciprocal teaching and peer-to-peer training, thanks to the role of the Champions

• BLENDED LEARNING - face-to-face bootcamps & online activities (CPD resources and the community of practice)

• Training teachers' TECHNOLOGICAL and PEDAGOGICAL SKILLS

• BOOTCAMP MODEL - Experiential Learning Methodology

ACTIVITIES TOOLS

1 INTERACTIVE

Teacher leadsStudents from the desks

Brainstorming on the IWB. The teacher leads a discussion to identify facts, terms, and ideas that students think are in anyway associated with the topic. The teacher, using the pen, makes a list of these items and writes them in very brief form, i.e. a single word or short phrase.

2 COLLABORATIVE

Students groups work

Divide the students into groups of 4 or 5 and explain that they are going to construct a concept map about the topic. Then they have finished, the teacher invites a student from each group to come to the IWB and show the own group's Cmap.

What is the added value expected from the use of IWB? How the interactive whiteboard can enhance the students' learning, the learning evaluation or any other aspect of the teacher's work?
