The limiting of blog posts to 400 words means that summary of the most important information is key. This module taught me how to be succinct: say what I want to say, in few words, to make my posts accessible to all audiences!

INCREASED AWARENESS ABOUT ONLINE PRIVACYTopics 2 and 3 emphasised that "anonymity is luxury"

The unfortunate incident of Justine Sacco and many others shows how widely and easily things can be shared and the negative implications it can curtail. This emphasises how important it is to watch what you say on social media

I'VE LEARNT THAT SOCIAL MEDIA ISN'T ALL BAD

Parents often nag at how much time you spend on social media, but it isn't all bad, in fact, your social media account can benefit you IF you have an authentic identity

THE IMPORTANCE OF INTERNET, AND LACK THEREOFTopic 1 emphasized how important the Internet is in terms of learning; it allows for the finding of knowledge, sharing and creation of new information.

Unfortunately, the digital divide as discussed in topic 4 shows that not everyone has access to the web, this is an issue that must be addressed to minimize ethical issues.

BALANCED ARGUMENTS ARE A MUST

Blogs often portray own views and opinions of the writer, however  providing a balanced argument and understanding the viewpoints of others is important to boost reliability and to make your blog post seem trustworthy and informed. This was shown in Topic 5 on Open Access

Something I had worried about previously was self marking and reflection. However, reflection on your own work, and the work of others allows for improvements to be made, and issues with your work to be identified. This means that your blog posts can improve week by week!
