TERMINATOR
SALVATION
‘Hasta la vista, baby.’ When Arnie first spoke those words a
whopping 18 years ago in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, he
meant them. Almost two decades later and the sci-fi series is
still going strong, and yes, the Governator may have hung up
his acting boots for now, but that hasn’t halted the release of
the fourth instalment, Terminator Salvation starring Christian
Bale as John Connor. Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Connor is
yet again the man fated to lead the human resistance against
Skynet and its Terminators. But the future Connor was raised
to believe in is altered by the appearance of Marcus Wright
(played by Aussie Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last
memory is being on death row. Connor must decide whether
Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the
past. As Skynet prepares for its final confrontation, Connor
and Marcus must stick together and venture to the heart of
Skynet’s operations, where they uncover a terrible secret behind
the possible annihilation of mankind. This highly anticipated
film is not another remake of the last three before it, but rather
explores a new plot that is as refreshing as it is worthwhile
to watch.
CHE: pART TwO
This is the second part of Steven Soderbergh’s biopic starring Benicio
Del Toro as Argentine revolutionary, Che Guevara. In Che: Part
One, we watched the revolutionary medic’s struggle to overthrow
Cuba’s Batista government and the success he experienced with
the establishment of Fidel Castro as the island’s new leader. The
final instalment in the Guevara series picks up seven years later and
focuses on his downwards spiral. Entering Bolivia in disguise as an
OAS diplomat in 1966, he sets off into the dangerous and rugged
mountain landscapes of the jungle, where he leads a small group of
Bolivian communists into an armed struggle that he hopes will carry
the revolution to the mainland. Little does he know that the armed
forces set up to counteract his attacks have been trained by the CIA.

STAR TREKBeam me up Scottie! Ever been to a Star Trek
convention? No, me neither – but I’m sure fans will be
yapping with delight after the release of the modern
remake of the cult series Star Trek 2009. The old crew is
back, they’ve had a much younger revamp and quite appropriately are venturing to boldly go where no man has gone before. This space adventure focuses on the history of James T. Kirk and Spock and is an entertaining flick. Stars Winona Ryder, Simon Pegg and Eric Bana.
ACCIDENTAL HUSBANDUma Thurman plays Dr Emma Lloyd, a Manhattan radio talk-show
host and famed love expert who offers relationship advice to distressed
couples of New York. When she advises one of her listeners to call off
their wedding, the groom-to-be, Patrick decides to get
back at Emma with the help of his neighbour and hacks
into her details on the City Hall database and marries
her. When Emma and her fiancé Richard (Colin Firth)
go to register their nuptials, they discover that Emma is
already married. She sets out to put the record straight,
but ends up discovering an unlikely attraction.

GHOST OF GIRLFRIENDS pASTMatthew McConaughey
is cast as Connor Mead, a celebrity photographer
and womaniser who is haunted by the ghosts
of his former girlfriends at his younger brother
Paul’s (Breckin Meyer) wedding. The ghost girls of his past, present
and future take him through a humorous journey delving into his relationship history to
try and make him realise his mistakes, but it’s not
until he is haunted by old flame and best friend
of his brother’s fiancée, Jenny (Jennifer Garner) that he begins to think
seriously about finding true love. This film is the
epitome of a chick flick, get your girlfriends
together for this one.
