Film Production Development: The first stage in which ideas for the film are created, then the producer selects a story and prepares a synopsis. They then produce a step outline where they break the story down into one paragraph. They then prepare a treatment and then the screenwriter writes a screenplay over several months. The factors of the film like the genre, audience actors etc are considered and so the producer and screen writer make a pitch to present to potential financers which then (if the pitch is successful) negotiate a deal and sign contracts so then the film may proceed into the pre-production stage . Pre-production:

Preparations are made for the shoot, in which cast and film crew are hired, the locations are selected and the sets are built. Each step of creating the film is planned and designed. The film is story boarded and the production company and production office are created and established.

The raw elements for the film are recorded during the film shoot; "principal photography".

 

Post Production: 

The images, sounds and visual effects of the recorded film are edited. They are computer-generated images.

Distribution:

The finished film is distributed and screened in cinemas and/or released on

Key Production Roles:

Producer;

The producer prepares and supervises the making of the film before presenting it to a financing entity or a film distibutor. They might be employed by a film studio or be independent.

Director; 

The director directs the making of the film. Normally a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, and visualizes the script whilst guiding the technical crew and actors on what to do.

Editor;

The editor edits the film by working with the original footage and selecting and combining shots into sequences to create a finished motion picture. .

Sound designer;

The sound designer goes through a process of specifying, acquring, manipulating or generating audio elements to suit the film.

Production designer;

The production designer is responsible for the overall look of the filmed scenes. They have a key, creative role in the creation of the film. They work with the director and producer to select the setting and style of each scene to visually tell the story.
