WHO ARE WE?We are SPARKS PRODUCTIONS. Our production company is a UK independent film company, serving entertainment to the

British public. We think this name SPARKS PRODUCTIONS is a suitable name because our film company creates new and

exciting ideas.

GENREThe genre we have chosen for our new upcoming feature film is British social realism. We believe this chosen genre will allow us as a production company to use common ideologies

and iconography related to britain and incorporating them to create a realistic viewing experience.

THE PLOTThe main character within our film is called Lottie who is 17 years of age. At the beginning of our film Lottie who is an

everyday mundane teenage girl who comes across another female who is 19 years of age attempting to jump onto a train line. Lottie

tries to persuade the girl, however with no luck the girl jumps to her death. After this traumatic experience she was scarred and Lottie's life went upside down. This tragedy lead Lottie turning to drugs, hanging around with the wrong crowd and breaking the law. Her mum has had enough of her behavior, overall leaving

Lottie homeless. The final scene ends with Lottie attempting to commit suicide in the same place and someone coming over to help

her; re-creating the beginning of the film and leaving the audience left with unanswered questions as to what happens next.

OUR TITLE AND FONTWe have chosen the name “LOST” for our film. We feel this is

an appropriate title because Lottie is LOST in a world outside of reality. Due to her dramatic experience, Lottie

intoxicated her mind, separating herself from the real world.

We have chosen this font because it is broken up and looks as if it is falling apart. We believe this represents Lottie and her life.

LOGLINEIn a broken society, being a teenager is not a ride in the park. When life gets hard,

people can fall apart.

UNIQUE SELLING POINT FOR LOSTOur films unique selling point within our film is that it contains a realistic storyline that plays on the audience's heart strings. But there will also be a lot of action within the film to keep the audience excited and engaged within it.

TARGET AUDIENCEThe chosen Age certificate for our film will be 15. According to the BBFC drug taking, frequent swearing and scenes of violent

nature are acceptable within this age rating. Our target audience will vary between 18-25

Usually British social realism films are targeted at teenagers/ young adults hence the characters within them are aged between 13-20, therefore the target audience will be able to relate and form relationships with them (Blumer and Katz uses and gratifications).

However, our film film will appeal to both female and male audiences.

CHARACTERS AND CASTING: LOTTIE

Lottie is the main character within our film. She is the main Protagonist within the production, however we believe the antagonist is the depression that is living inside of

her; in other words the evil within.

Page 10: Film pitch

CHARACTERS AND CASTING: JOANNA

Joanna is a teenager of 19 years of age who commits suicide by jumping onto a train line. Joanna is not a huge role in the film and the details into why she killed herself are not expressed. However she does play a huge part in Lottie’s

life.

CHARACTERS AND CASTING: GANG

The gang within our film is considered as Lottie’s new group of friends when her life turns upside down. We believe the gang represents the evil inside her head, pulling her closer to the dark side. We would consider her new group of friends

as an antagonist within the production.

WILL WE USE A-LIST STARS?

British social realism genre films use infamous actors to overall make the film look increasingly realistic because the audience will not be familiar with them. Therefore for our production we would find young teenagers from a local drama workshop (such as ITV workshop) or drama school to

cast the characters within the film.

HOW WILL WE APPEAL TO OUR AUDIENCE?

Because spark productions is an independent British film company, social media will play a huge part in advertising our film. We will appeal to our target audience by using both twitter and facebook, allowing them to use hashtags such as #lost to get up to date information on our film.

Our target audience will use social media on a daily basis therefore we will be able to connect with them easily and

quickly.
