Single-Use Filling Needles

Meissner’s filling needles are optimized for incorporation into single-use systems used in precision filling applications. Truly single-use by design, they are the only 100% polymeric filling needles available today. These polymeric filling needles offer a cost-effective alternative to stainless steel and hybrid needles, and eliminate the time and expense associated with cleaning and cleaning validation. This translates into faster product to product changeovers hence higher throughput on your filling line.

Meissner’s standard filling needles were developed to interface directly with the majority of filling machines in use today. Our filling needles are available with inner diameters from 1.2 mm to 4.5 mm to cater to a wide range of dosing volumes.

Various polypropylene adapters seamlessly integrate with the filling needles to accommodate a wide range of filling machine designs. These adapters enable a modular ready to use filling solution avoiding the reliance on costly custom needles.

Product Specifications

Meissner filling needles consist of only two materials of construction. The shaft is constructed of rigid, chemically resistant, extruded PEEK (polyetheretherketone), while the hub and fluid path connection are molded polypropylene. All fluid path materials are certified Animal Component Free (ACF). The needles are provided with a protective polycarbonate sheath.

Standard needle lengths interface well with most filling systems and common pharmaceutical containers such as vials, syringes and cartridges. Extended functional length needle options of 125 mm are available for filling applications that require a longer needle shaft.
