Fikile joined the trust on the 15th June 2015. He attended the annual District Seminar and the induction of newly appointed facilitators across the country that was held at Sunnyside Park Conference Center and Hotel, Johannesburg, from the 13th of July to the 23rd July 2015. It is from these two events that he came back to North West with a clarity of focus pertaining to his role in assisting under-resourced schools to achieve and perform optimally.

As an educator, he has taught English First Additional Language to Grades 10-12 from 1996 to 2004 at Bopaganang Secondary School, his high school alma mater. He constantly produced results in the region of 80% - 100% in the matric class. The latter can be attributed to him engaging learners in external activities such as the Grahamstown Schools Arts Festival, the De Beers English Olympiad and inter-school oral competitions. His other experience derives from the external marking of Grade12 scripts at both provincial and national level

As a subject advisor: he has successfully negotiated understanding of NCS and NSC policies with the educators he was assigned to. This included educators teaching English FAL Grade4 -12 in about ninety-seven schools in the three villages of Ganyesa, Morokweng and Tlakgameng. He was the provincial examiner for English FAL grade 10-12. He was also a member of the provincial team responsible for the screening of books and subsidiary materials submitted by publishers in order to recommend which materials were appropriate for use in the schools across the Province. The position also involved training and mentoring of educators in the teaching and assessing of English, methodologies and teaching strategies.

As an IQMS coordinator, he has trained schools on IQMS implementation through correct interpretation of Resolution8 of 2003. This entailed correct designing of IQMS Management Plans, School Improvement Plans and the implementation thereof. He assisted schools in identifying and recommending relevant intervention strategies in order to address areas that needed improvement.
