Fiji is an island nation compromised of 322 volcanic islands located in the south Pacific Ocean. It is located the North of New Zealand and to the Southwest of Honolulu. Only

160 of the islands are inhabited permanently.

Fiji is known for its many beautiful beaches and crystal clear reefs around the world. Many of its beaches and tourist filled

areas are located on the islands of Nadi, Denarau,The Yawasa Islands and The Mamanacu Islands.

Fiji has a population of 849, 000 on 18,274 km2 (7,056 sq mi) which makes a density rate of 46.4/km2 ( 120.3/sq mi ) .The largest

island,Viti Levu, covers 57% of the total land area.It hosts 69% of Fiji's population and contains most of the major cities and towns.

Vanua Levu is the second largest island which covers 30% of the nations land area and hosts 15% of Fiji's population. The

capital of Fiji is Suva which is also the largest island in the south pacific is located on Viti Levu

Fiji has a wide variety of mountains to the west side and tropical forests to the east. It's major resources are timber,fish,gold,copper and hydropower.The Fiji Islands and Maritime Safety Administration

(FIMSA) has discovered the possibility that there could be more islands in Fiji's Exclusive Economic Zone.
