Fig. 2 A simple digital thermometer with a sensor will show if the necessary temperature has been reached (mini-mum of 150 °C). High temeprature is necessary for proper penetration of paraffin into the wood as well as for destruction of bacteria.

The vessel must be constructed in such way that metal parts above the level of paraffin are not over-heated by flames in order to prevent combustion.
Fig. 3 – 5 Hive super or other tool should be immerged into paraffin for several minu-tes. Paraffin starts absorbing deep into the wood when the fizzing of escaping water vapours stops. AFB spores are destroyed after 5 minutes of heating to 150 °C.
