Hours of Operation:

Monday—Thursday, 7a.m.—4:30 p.m. (Fitness Center open until 6:30 p.m.), Fridays until 3:30p.m.

Our Mission: FiftyForward enriches the lives of adults 50+ by providing

pathways to health, well-being and lifelong learning.

Exciting New Technology Comes to FiftyForward!

We are excited to partner with My Senior Center, a web-based program, that will simplify how we enter

and track membership data. With this much-needed technology upgrade, we will be installing a brand

new scanning system for our front desk check-in. Your current FiftyForward card will still work. The

touch-screen will be much larger, and you will be able to select specific activities and classes rather than

just general categories. The system is very user-friendly, but we will also have volunteers standing by to

assist you. As with anything new, there will be a period of adjustment as we all get used to this new

system. We kindly ask for your patience as we all will be learning together.

Improvement for 1st Day of Trip Sign-Up

Wow, trips are more popular than ever! And thanks to our new bus, even more people are getting to

enjoy them. In order to make the third Tuesday trip sign-up a smoother process, we will be lining folks

up in front of the bulletin board. This will free up the counter for those that need to sign-in. We thank

you in advance for your patience!

Friday Night Music Jam Update

We would like to thank all of the hard-working, dedicated volunteers who have run our Friday Night

Music Jam for the past four years. They have done a superb job! Moving forward, the Friday Night

Music Jam will now be run by FiftyForward Madison Station and will continue for the remainder of this

year. We plan on continuing the Jam next year also as long as the attendance remains up and we have

volunteers. We will have concessions at the Jam including chips, drinks, candy bars and coffee. At-

tendees are more than welcome to bring their own sandwiches/meals. We will continue to “pass the hat”

for donations. Please note that the Jam will NOT be open on Friday, Nov. 28 and Friday, December 26

due to the holidays. We hope to see you on Friday nights from 6-9 p.m!

Pastime Parade

FiftyForward is proud to present the 4th Annual Viva la Diva race on Saturday,

November 15th. This event celebrates and supports health, wellness and

safety programs at FiftyForward. Register online at vivaladivarun.org to walk or

run the 5K at 8:00 a.m. or the 10K at 9:00 a.m. Perhaps you aren’t interested in

racing, but still want to support FiftyForward? Sam will be a Course Monitor/

Cheerer for the racers and would like to bring some FiftyForward Madison

cheerers along. Talk with Sam if you’d like to help give a boost of support to

the racers. All cheerers will receive a FREE Chik-fil-a breakfast and a ball cap!

Harvest Dance - Monday, November 17

Shake the dust off of those dancing shoes! Get ready for the Harvest Dance on Monday,

November 17th at 6:30 p.m. Our favorite dance music, performed by Debbi & Neil, will be

on hand! $5.00 for members and $7.00 for non-members at the door. Light refreshments

will be available.

Tasty Tuesday - Tuesday, November 18

Let’s indulge in the feel of Thanksgivings passed! Be ready to tap your feet to the rhythms

of an Ole-timey string band for our “Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving” shindig! Tuck into the

traditions of the season: turkey and dressing, cranberry salad, green beans, a roll and

dessert. Don’t miss the fun! Purchase your $5.00 ticket by Friday, November 14th.

Craft Fair - Friday, November 21

Been searching for craft goods? Are you looking for a place to sell your wares? We’ve got the

Christmas gifts and decorations that you’ve been looking for! Buy and sell one-of-a-kind hand-

made items here on Friday, November 21st from 9:00 until 2:00 at our annual Craft Fair. Members

get their first table for free, after that only $8 per table. Non-members pay just $15 per table.

See the front desk to sign up.

“Our Country Christmas” Dinner Show - Thursday, December 11

You’re not gonna wanna miss this one, ya’ll! Celebrate Christmas in country-style with

“Dolly Parton” and “The Judds!” Yankee Girl will be on hand in her Dolly get-up and will be

available after her show for photo-ops. Many of you have asked for Kelly Nolf and Wyndi

Harp of A Tribute to the Judds to return and we listened! “Kelly and Wyndi not only look

like the Judds, but they sound like them too. Wyndi’s slapstick, Naomi-like sense of humor,

and Kelly’s big Wynonna voice have really put this team above the rest. When in costume,

they are easily mistaken for the real Judds.” Feast upon a traditional Christmas menu of

turkey, dressing, garden salad, cranberry Jello-O salad, green beans, roll & dessert. Tickets

are on sale at the front for $20.00 and will be available through Friday, December 5th.

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words,

but to live by them. ~John F. Kennedy

And we would like to thank….

HighPoint Hospice for ”What’s in the Bag?,” Windlands East for Tasty Tuesday dessert,

Skyline for Lunch and Learn, Captain D’s for birthday coupons, HCA Healthcare for

birthday cupcakes, all those along with the Membership Committee who volunteered

to work the many Health Fairs this season & all the Flea Market bakers.

Thank you for your contributions to our Center!

Karaoke Don’t be shy! Swing on by Karaoke with DJ Dottie every second Thursday of

the month at 12:30 p.m. for some self-expression fun. Don’t sing? We’d love

to have you participate all the same. There’s fun, fellowship and door prizes

to be had whether you choose to sing or not! Come for a visit this month on
