Prayer of the Day: Almighty God, You alone can bring into order the unruly wills and
affections of sinners: grant Your people grace to love what You command and desire what You promise; that, among the swift and

where true joys are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and
forever. Amen.

*The Introit “We Take the Cross of Jesus Christ” Congregation (Tune-Ellacombe, #59)
We take the cross of Jesus Christ in ashes on our face. This ancient symbol made in dust reminds us of His grace.
We beg for mercy from our Lord, to cleanse us deep within. We know ourselves, our faulty lives, our tendency toward sin.

Till His spirit forth He sent.

Cost: $13.00 Menu: Ham, scalloped potatoes, salad, vegetables, buns, dessert & drink. Speaker: Angela Fraser – Regina General Hospital Chaplain. Topic: “The Paths of Life” Angela came to Regina at age 18 to attend the University of Regina and has remained here since that time. She and her husband, Byron, met through Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship activities and have been married for 27 years. They have two adult sons and one daughter-in-law. Angela currently serves as a Hospital Chaplain with both Living Skies Spiritual Care and the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region.
Looking back on nearly half a century of life, Angela finds it fascinating and encouraging to see how the hand of God has guided her, and how He continues to give guidance today. From northern England to southern Saskatchewan, from the classroom to the board room to the hospital rooms of the patients she visits, God has set her on different paths during her life – a life which she considers to be an amazing journey.
QUESTION: If people miss an ACHIEVERS’ LUNCHEON after having said they will be attending are we committed to paying for those missed meals?

By now you may be aware that there is, once again, an active Youth Group at First. There is much more to know about them and their activities.
Our first Youth Group in many years has been reading through the Gospel of John together and learning to pray and sing together.
Given the diversity of our group, some of the kids have been doing some interesting things for the first time………
- first rodeo - first time skating - first time tobogganing - first s’mores over a camp fire - first experiences with house pets - first games: four on the couch, dutch blitz, spoons
This is a warm and welcoming group of young people. They have made our time together a safe and hospitable place to be. Let’s keep them in our prayers.
Friday, Mar 18: Girls Night Out/Boys Night Out

CANADIAN BAPTIST MINISTRIES (CBM) NEWS:
THAILAND: Please pray for East Toronto Chinese Baptist Church, which is preparing to send a team of four to visit CBM Field Staff in Thailand, Conrad & Fiona Kwok, and spending time at Bethel Bible Institute. As they serve local villagers using vocational skills of counselling, massage therapy and acupuncture as the means to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and witness the mission work in equipping Bible college students for evangelism, and drug addict rehabilitation through Gospel-based counselling with Operation Dawn, please pray for their safety, spiritual protection, and humble hearts.
AFRICA: Please pray for the emergency food crisis currently afflicting the African continent. According to The Globe and Mail, “more than 40 million Africans in a dozen countries are now in need of humanitarian assistance because of food shortages that have expanded from the Horn of Africa to South Sudan and into the farthest corners of southern Africa. The disaster was triggered by the pressures of climate change… aggravated by a brutal civil war in South Sudan and the continued failings of governments”. Drought has prevented livestock & crops from surviving, creating a desperate situation of famine. Please pray for the food insecure, and for the provision of water and immediate aid for those in greatest need.
