Hello Parents and Students! The work below should be done throughout the week. Keep your skills sharp
so you will be ready for Middle School next year! We are here to support your learning. There are
assignments in Reading, Math, Writing, Science and Social Studies. Scroll down to find each subject. Student Email
Your school email can be found in Office 365-Outlook. Your email address is your lunch number with @springfieldpublicschools.com You should check your email and Teams classes once a day for messages from your teachers or principal, upcoming zoom meetings and additional help from your teachers. You can also check Unified Classroom for assignments.

Teachers also have set classes up in Microsoft Teams. Students can find lessons, support materials, ask
questions and chat with the teacher and classmates. It can be found in Office 365 if it is not already on the
student desktop. They should download the app to the desktop from the software center if it is not already
there. There is also an IT Help desk section in Teams for students who have questions or need help with their
computer. There are also instructional videos.
Sumner Social Media Policy- Respect Yourself- Do your work before you play or chat. Ask for help if you need it.
Respect Others- Be kind and helpful to all. Let others work. Respect the Environment- Be kind to your computer. Treat it like a baby. Do not
download memes or software from the internet. If you get a virus, it can’t be fixed easily. Safeguard your personal information.
Zoom/Teams Class Rules Have Cameras on and Mics Muted.
Be seated and clothed. Have pencil and paper ready to work and take notes.
Do not type in the chat unless asked.
**Failure to follow these rules will result in removal from the class.

Contractions “are” and “will” quizlet.com/_2ik4tw 4. Sort the contractions into the column they belong in. Write the contraction and then break it into two separate words. You can make a table in a word document in Office 365. Go to the insert tab and click on table. You can type in each box. You can also write them down and take a picture with the camera on your computer.

Due on June 5 for 4th semester credit!!!! Choose a historical person from the Revolutionary War from the list below to write about.
Label the PowerPoint or Word documents you submit with your first and last name and the
word War. Example Jimmy James War. Word Documents should be in MLA format.
You have 3 CHOICES of how to make your presentation. Choose one. Use the Biography note
taking form in Class materials folder to help you take notes. All checklists are in one
document.
1. Make a PowerPoint presentation about the person. Use the Biography Slide Check List in
the Ms. Olsen’s Teams Class Materials folder.
2. Write a song about the person along the lines of Alexander Hamilton by Lin-Manuel
Miranda. You must submit a lyrics sheet. Sing and record it. See Mr. Kaplan and Ms. Koffie
for assistance. Use the Song Lyrics checklist in Ms. Olsen’s Teams Class materials folder.

3. Write a biography of the person in a Word Document. Use the Biography Graphic
organizer with the Biography checklist to help you in Ms. Olsen’s Teams Class Materials
folder.
