Attendance• The tardy bell rings at 7:25. Please have

your child arrive to school on time. They need to turn in assignments and fill out agendas before our learning begins at 7:40.

• Excessive tardies & absences can result in gaps in your child’s learning.

Homework

• Homework will consist of practice work that has already been taught in class.

• Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday and written in the student agenda. It is also listed (not linked) on your teacher’s website.

• The students are responsible for turning in homework assignments on the due date and self-documenting any missing work.

• A consistent pattern of missing homework will have an impact on conduct grades and will be made up during non-curricular activities.

• Some long term projects will be assigned that may need to be worked on over the weekend.

• Students are expected to read for 30 minutes every evening.

Assignment PoliciesWhen work is due: Generally, work is due the same day assigned, and late work could be penalized.

Absent Work Policy: Students are responsible for collecting the work they missed while absent. For every absence there is one make-up day (ie~3 days absent = 3 days for make-up).

Late Projects: Projects that are turned in late will have 10% deducted for each day the project is late.

NEISD Grading Policy• Parent Portal: Report cards will be viewed

through Skyward Family Access and require an electronic signature this year. NEISD is transitioning to paperless Progress Reports & Report Cards.

• Students will be given an opportunity to redo/retake failed assignments or tests within a reasonable timeframe (generally 1 week). The highest grade of the two (not exceeding a 70%) will be recorded.

• Extra Credit work will not be given.

Student Binders

• A “Tracking My Own Learning” signature sheet is included in the binder. Signature sheet must be signed weekly by a parent indicating that all graded work has been checked. Please sign even if there are no new assignments for the week.

• A few assignments may be kept in the Leadership Binder.

• All graded work will be kept in the student’s binder for the entire grading period. Please do not remove work.
