FIELD DAY ON BENGALGRAM ORGANIZED Mr. Tushar Deshmukh addressing in the programme National Food Security Mission (NFSF) sponsored Cluster Frontline Demonstration (CFLD) programme had been implementing on 50 ha area in Bengal gram crop in village Chikhali of Risod block in Washim district during Rabi 2017 -18. To demonstrate technologies adopted in this FLD a Field Day was organized in village Chikhali on 5 th January 2018. Dr.R.L.Kale, (Head of KVK) presided over the programme while Hon.Z.P.Member Shri.Swapnilji Samaik a Chief Guest and other dignitaries were present on this occasion include Sau. Anjali Deokar (Sarpanch), KVK Scientists of the KVK and progressive farmer Shri. Vishwasraoji Sarnaik. Mr.Swapnilji Sarnaik in his inaugural address expresses the satisfaction towards organization of CFLD programme the village. During the technical session Mr. R.S. Daware, (Incharge CFLD) focused on Integrated Pest Management and also and urged to use non pesticide component for pest management with label claim recommended pesticide on the basis of ETL. Mr. T.S.Deshmukh highlighted on the characteristics of JAKI 9218 Bengalgram variety alongwith Integrated Nutrient Management and water management. Mr.S.K.Deshmukh focused on technical services of the KVK.In the presidential address Dr. R. L. Kale emphasised on farming system approach and appealed to work as a technology ambassador for other farmers. At the end of the technical session, the field visit was organized to the field of RamprasadjiAmbhore. To tap the untapped potentials and to impart advanced technologies of fish culture in reservoir, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Washim was organized 3 days training programme on "Reservoir Fishery Management" during 19-21 Decenber,20 17 in collaboration with State Fisheries Department Buldhana under National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), Hyderabad. The programme was inaugurated by Head and Sr. Scientist Dr. R. L. Kale while Mr. Suresh Bharati, Regional Deputy Commissioner of Fisheries, Amravati. was a chief guest Other dignitaries on the dias were Dr. P.S.Dhabe, HOD Zoology Dept. Khendelwal College, Akola, Mr. Naikwade, Assist. Commissioner Fisheries , Buldhana and Mr. J aiswal Assistant Fisheries Development Officer, Buldhana. In the inaugural session S.R.Bharati briefed the objective of the training programme and explained the scope of fish culture in Buldhana District. He highlighted the various schemes of state Government as well as NEDB, Hyderabad. Mr. Naikwade appealed trainees to take the benefit of facilities available at the KVK for increasing the production in reservoir on scientific line. Mr. Jaiswal who voiced his appreciation for joint efforts taken by State Fisheries Department and KVK for organizing such training on the important topic "Reservoir Fishery Management" . fish diseases and their control etc. An exposure visit wasalso organized at aquaculture demonstration unit, integratedfish farming unit at KVK campus as well as species forculture, fish feed types, management practices, role of Ifertilizers in aquaculture, role of dissolved oxygen, Types ofAquatic weed & their role in fish farming were explained.Importance of natural and artificial feeds was also discussedin detail. During the training Video CDs on differentaquaculture topics were shown to participants. Mr. ID.N.Ingole made presentation on SWOT analysis offisheries activities and prepared ideal SWOT analysis offisheries enterprise through group approach of participants.He focused on entrepreneurship trials for successful fishfarmer and urged the participants to acquire skill withknowledge for better adoption ofthe activities.

The valedictory Function was organized on 21stDecember, 2017 at KVK campus where certificates weredistributed to the participants. Total 50 farmers fromBuldhana District participated in training programme. Atthe concluding session KVK field visit was organized andshow the technological demonstration at integrated fishcum duck unit at KVK campus. Mr. Rama Deshmukhoperated the power point presentation and helped in videoclippings and photographs.Cant. from Pg.No.!

The majority of the farmers from the Chikhali, Wyad andKawatha village cluster attended the programme as aparticipant. Mr.R.S.Daware conducted the programme

Oilseeds and Pulses in Maharashtra workshop was organizedby ICAR-ATARI, Pune during 16-18 January, 2018 at KVK,Solapur-I where Mr. T.S.Deshmukh (SMS Agronomy KVKWashim) participated in the workshop to present progress ofCFLD Oilseed and Pulses.

In inaugural session, Dr Lakhan Singh, Director,ICAR-ATARI, Pune gave more thrust on adopting resourceconservation technologies including drip irrigation, raisedbed technology, mulching, intercropping and droughtresistant varieties of oilseed and pulses.

Dr K.D. Kokate, Director Extension Education,MPKV, Rahuri highlighted the concept of frontlinedemonstrations and emphasized the need of soil healthmanagement. Dr. S. G. Bhave, Director Extension Education,BSKKV, Dapoli enlightened the participants on the need ofinnovative extension through integrated efforts. Dr. P.G.Ingole, Director Extension Education, VNMAU, Parbhanihighlighted the salient achievements of cluster frontlinedemonstrations undertaken by the KVK. Mr. P. J. Gaikwad,Chairman, SKP, Solapur stressed that the farmer centricextension is need of the time by recalling example ofcapsicum cultivation in his own village.

During the workshop a special session fortechnological backstopping was organized. Incharge AICRP,Solapur delivered lectures on good agricultural practices inoilseed and pulses and climateresilient technologies. To disseminate new agricultural technologies, to developout reach of KVK for providing necessary support fordevelopment of skill based activities among the ruralyouths Krishi Vigyan Kendra has taken initiatives forparticipation in Dawha Agricultural Exhibition. On theeve of Nath Nange Maharaj Dawha Yatra a district levelagricultural exhibition was jointly organized on 24Jan.20 18 by Z.P.Washim and Panchayat Samiti, Malegaon.

Z.P.Sabhapati (Agriculture) Shri.Vishvanath Sanapinaugurated this event while President Z.P.WashimSau.Harshadatai Deshmukh presided over the function.KVK Karda arranged separate stall displaying variousservices like soil testing, vermiwash, vermiculture, seeds,planting material, fish seed, poultry birds etc. Beside thistechnological services like agri and allied enterprises,success stories of farmers, sarai cooker, farm implements,KVK publication, FPO activities, azolla culture, feed andfodder, IPM and INM technology, food processingtechnologies etc. were displayed in the stall. Visiting farmerdirectly interacted KVK scientist and get solution theirqueries. Z.P.members, Panchayat Samiti members andofficial of agriculture and line department visited the stalland take information about new technologies suitable forour district. Farmers, rural youth and farm women alsoFPOs, SHGs, JLGs groups visited the KVK stall in largenumber. SMS Agricultural Economics D.N.Ingole,STL staff Mrs. Archana Kadam and Jagan Deshmukh tookefforts for successful conduct of this event.

Spices growers from KVK operational area at the meetMinistry of Commerce and Industry, Spices Board

of India (Kochi) organized spices buyers sellers meetprogramme at CIDCO, Convention Center, Vashi NewMumbai on 7th Jan.2018 where KVK contact farmers(spices growers) from its operational area wereparticipated in the meet which The meet was inauguratedby Chairman Spices Board ofIndia Dr.A.Jaythilak (IAS).

After the inaugural session growers, sellers,buyers, processors and exporters interacted amongthemselves and shared their experiences of processingand exporting of spices and its value addition.Mr.R.S.Daware (SMS Plant Protection) who leads to thegroup offarmers participated in this exposure. Among thefarmers Mr.Pawanji Belokar and Vitthal Khaire assuredand decided to supplyquality supply of ~~~=::=::7~turmeric on this ~.~platform in thefuture. Total22 spicesfarmersparticipatedin this meetwere fromvillage Wanoja,ShelukhadseKoyali, Linga,Morgavhan, Pawarwadi,Asola etc. participated in the meet. Dignitories& Participantsof theworkshopTwo days Orientation Workshop on NICE in Pro Soil projectis jointly organized by National Institute of AgriculturalExtension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad and Dr.Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth Akola held during18-19 Jan.20 18 at Akola. Technical collaboration andsupport was extended by Federal German Govt. agency GIZNew Delhi for entire training programme. On behalf ofKVKWashim Subject Matter Specialist Extension EducationS.K.Deshmukh participated in this workshop.Thisworkshop has focused on mobile advisory services withfocused on NICE web portal, pro soil project, demonstrationon NICE current future and feedback session from trainees.As a part of farmer advisory services this project will behelpful for sustaining advisory services to farmers withspecial future like video sharing, messaging, PDF andfeedback mechanism. Dr.G.Bhaskar MANAGE,Mr.Himansu Verma GIZ New Delhi acts as a resource personfor the training.
