Configuration in Brief (4A)
• Stations:– (1) W6MES: 40/75m SSB with fan dipole– (2) KF6RTA: 20/15/10m (JPL Comm Van, with ATB-34 Yagi &
75m dipole for 75/20/15/10m)– (3) KF6RTA: 80m-10m CW (JPLARC) using CITARC Force-12
C3S Yagi and JPLARC 80/40m fan dipole– (4) W9EO: 80-10m digital modes using 80’ wire loop
antenna fed with an SGC-230 auto-tuner.– (Free) WA6IFY: 6/2/1.25/0.7/0.23m all-mode station
(WA6IFY) using AC6VV Kenwood TS-2000X transceiver & AA6QI antennas (Diamond X3200 vertical & Cushcraft 2m Yagi with TV antenna rotor), N6AN 6m stacked halo antennas & TBD 23cm antenna. Will also have 1.25m FM.
– (Free) WA0POD: Satellite station using his antennas
• Power: Portable generators & JPL Comm Van

Force-12 C3S Yagi20m/15/10m Changes from 2017 layout:
- Food/rest tents move N to more centrally locate them.- 40m SSB now 40/75m SSB & uses a homebrew 40/75m fan dipole.- 40/75m SSB tent moves N to little more central location.- VHF/UHF stations moves to E side of site about where food/rest was last year.- JPL Van will be 75m/20/15/10m SSB working into its ATB-34 Yagi & 75m dipole.- JPL Van moves further S to make room for its 75m dipole (centered on mast).- SAT station moves NE to just N of food/rest area on E side of site.- Digital station uses 80’ loop antenna with SGC-230 tuner & is centrally located.- CW station stays where it is.-Solar t-scope tent will be about where it was last year.

Manually change coax fromThe TS-2000X to the 220MHz radio
(unless we have another switch that can do the job).
To Do!
• Verify/update checklist by reviewing each station diagram carefully• Confirm locations of all JPL items
– Need help with this, schedule after-work session to do this
• Final preparations on work party, June 8th
– Locate all antennas (80-40m dipole, Cushcraft ATB-34 Yagi)– Locate/construct 75m dipole
• JPL Publicity for Field Day (digital flyer for kiosks?)• Purchase gasoline for generator• Find/fabricate 75m dipole

GOTA Station?
• SPARC Unable to support GOTA station• Goal: Provide way for inactive or non hams to experience
making contacts• “Free” station, QSOs do not count towards total QSO count.
– But it can provide “points” based on the number of contacts
• Requires control operator in attendance at all times visitors are operating
• Station privileges depend on control operator• Cannot use FD callsign (or W6VIO due to NOTA)• Requires equipment, setup, etc.
– Anyone with a “Go Kit” setup could set this up as a GOTA station!
• Volunteer?
