AllunitscomplywiththelatesteditionofARIStandard440 for testingand rating fancoilunits,arecertified,anddisplaytheARIsymbol.
High Efficiency motors, fan relays, disconnects andfusingmeaneasiercoordinationbetweenmechanicaland electrical trades.
Coil options allow for three or four row chilled water or DXcoolingcoils.Oneortworowhotwaterorstandardsteam coilsmay be placed in the preheat or reheatposition.
Silentsolidstaterelaysareavailableforfanandelectricheat control in sound sensitive environments.

All FH Series fan coil units are shipped completelyassembled, reducing field installation timeand labor.
Allunitsare thoroughly inspectedand testedprior to shipment, eliminating potential problems at startup.Motorwiringisbroughttoajunctionboxontheoutsideoftheunitcasing,reducingelectricalhook-uptime.
Plenumunitsarefieldreversibleforeitherrearorbot-tom return without special adapters, tools or additional parts.
AllFHSeriesfancoilunitshavetheoptionofahingedcoverelectricalenclosureinthebottomoftheunit.Theexpansivecompartmentallowsforeasyaccess toallelectricalcomponents,terminalblocksandwiring.
Factory furnished valve packages assure proper fit,operation and performance.
Forfasttrackjobs,theFHSeriesfancoil isavailableonQuickShipwith5,10or15dayleadtimes.
QualiTY ProducT
ConcealedModelFHSeriesfancoilunitsarebuiltfromgalvanizedsteel.ThismetalsurpassestheASTM125hour salt spray test for corrosion and rust. ExposedModelFHXcabinetry ispowdercoatedgalvannealedsteel.
Standardinsulationis1/2inchthickfiberglass,complyingwithUL181andNFPA90A.Optionalfoilfacedorelas-tomericclosedcellfoaminsulationmaybespecified.
Allunits,withorwithoutelectricheat,arecETLlistedandlabeled.AllwiringisincompliancewithNEC,assur-ingsafetyandqualityfortheowner.

Furnish and install Johnson Controls Model FH Horizontal Concealed Direct Drive Fan Coil Units where indicated on the plans and in the specifications. Units shall be completely factory assembled, tested andshipped as one piece. All units shall be capable ofmeetingorexceedingthescheduledcapacitiesforcool-ing,heatingandairdelivery.Allunitdimensionsforeachmodelandsizeshallbeconsideredmaximums.UnitsshallbeETLlistedincompliancewithUL/ANSIStandard1995,andbecertifiedascomplyingwiththelatestedi-tionofARIStandard440.
consTrucTion
All unit chassis shall be fabricated of heavy gaugegalvanized steel panels able tomeet 125 hour saltspray testperASTMB-117.Allexteriorpanelsshallbeinsulatedwith1/2"thickinsulationwithamaximumkvalueof.24(BTU•in)/(hr•ft2•°F)andratedforamaximumairvelocityof5000f.p.m.Insulationmustmeet all requirements of ASTM C1071 (includingC665),UL181 forerosion,andcarrya25/50 ratingfor flame spread/smokedeveloped perASTME-84,UL723andNFPA90A.
Allconcealedunitsshallhaveaminimum1-1/2"ductcollar on the discharge. Plenum and exposed unitsshall have a minimum 3/4" duct collar on the return.
All exposed units shall have exterior panels fabri-catedofgalvannealedsteel.Thefanandfilterbottomaccesspanelshallbeattachedwithquarterturnquickopen fasteners to allow for easy removal and access for service.
Option: Provide foil faced insulation in lieu of standard. Foil insulationshallmeetorexceedtherequirementsstatedabove,and inadditionmeetASTMStandardsC-665andC-1136 forbiologicalgrowth in insulation.Insulationshallbelinedwithaluminumfoil,fiberglassscrim reinforcement, and 30 pound kraft paper lami-nated together with a flame resistant adhesive. Allexposededgesshallbesealed topreventany fibersfromreachingtheairstream.
Option:ProvideElastomericClosedCellFoamInsulationinlieuofstandard.InsulationshallconformtoUL181forerosionandNFPA90Aforfire,smokeandmelting,and comply with a 25/50 Flame Spread and SmokeDevelopedIndexperASTME-84orUL723.Additionally,insulationshallcomplywithAntimicrobialPerformanceRating of 0, no observed growth, per ASTM G-21.Polyethyleneinsulationisnotacceptable.
Unitmountingshallbebyhangerbracketsprovidedatfour locations. Hanger brackets shall include rubbergrommetisolatorswithbrasseyeletsforthreadedrod.
PainTed finisH
Allpaintedcabinetexteriorpanelsshallbefinishedwitha heat cured anodic acrylic powder paint of the standard factory color.

Units shall have published sound power level datatestedinaccordancewithARIStandard350-2000(non-ductedequipment)andARIStandard260-2001(ductedequipment).
fan assemblY
Unit fan shall be a dynamically balanced, forwardlycurved,DWDIcentrifugaltypeconstructedof18gaugezinccoatedgalvanizedsteel forcorrosionresistance.Motorsshallbehighefficiency,permanentlylubricatedsleevebearing,permanentsplit-capacitortypewithULandCSAlistedautomaticresetthermaloverloadprotec-tionandthreeseparatehorsepowertaps.Singlespeedmotorsarenotacceptable.
Thefanassemblyshallbeeasilyremovableforservic-ingthemotorandblowerat,orawayfromtheunit.Theentire fanassemblyshallbeable tocomeoutof theunitbyremovingtwoscrewsandunpluggingthemotor.Plenum unit fan assemblies shall be easily servicedthroughanaccesspanelprovided.
Option: Provide an electronic (SCR) fan speed control-lerasanaidinbalancingthefancapacity.Thespeedcontroller shall have a turn down stop to prevent the possibilityofharmingthemotorbearings,andincorpo-rate electrical noise suppression to minimize noise on theincomingpowerlines.
Option: Devices used to energize and de-energize(switch) fan speedsmust be totally silent.Magnetic,mercury,and/orquietrelaysand/orcontactorsarenotacceptable.

All coolingandheatingcoilsshalloptimize rowsandfins per inch to meet the specified capacity. Coils shall have seamless copper tubes and shall bemechani-callyexpandedtoprovideanefficient,permanentbondbetween the tube and fin. Fins shall have high effi-ciency aluminum surface optimized for heat transfer, air pressure drop and carryover.

Primary condensate drain pans shall be single wall,heavygaugegalvanizedsteelforcorrosionresistance,and extendunder the entire cooling coil.Drain pansshall be of one-piece construction and be positivelysloped for condensate removal. Drain pans on con-cealedmodelsshallbefieldreversibleforrightorlefthand connections.
Thedrainpanshallbeexternallyinsulatedwithafireretardant,closedcell foam insulation. The insulationshall carry no more than a 25/50 Flame Spread and SmokeDevelopedRatingperASTME-84andUL723and an Antimicrobial Performance Rating of 0, noobservedgrowth,perASTMG-21.
Option:Provideasinglewallprimarydrainpancon-structed entirely of heavy gauge stainless steel forsuperior corrosion resistance. Stainless steel drain pans shallbeexternally insulatedandmeetorexceed therequirementsstatedabove.
Option: Provide a secondary drain connection on the primary drain pan for condensate overflow.

Allplenumandexposedunitsshallbefurnishedwithaminimum1"nominalglassfiberthrowawayfilter.Filtersshallbetightfittingtopreventairbypass.Plenumunitfiltersshallbeeasilyremovablefromthebottomoftheunit without the need for tools.

elecTrical
Unitsshallbefurnishedwithsinglepointpowerconnec-tion.Provideanelectricaljunctionboxwithterminalstripformotorandotherelectricalterminations.Thefactorymountedterminalwiringstripconsistsofamultipleposi-tionscrewterminalblocktofacilitatewiringterminationsfor the electric control valves and thermostats.

Furnishanelectricresistanceheatingassemblyasanintegralpartofthefancoilunit,withtheheatingcapac-ity, voltage and kilowatts scheduled. The heaterassemblyshallbedesignedandrated for installationonthefancoilunitwithouttheuseofductextensionsor transitions, and be located in the unit as to notexposethefanassemblytoexcessiveleavingairtem-peratures that could affect motor performance.
Theheaterandunitassemblyshallbe listedforzeroclearanceandmeetallNECrequirements,andbeETLlistedwiththeunitasanassemblyincompliancewithUL/ANSIStandard1995.
Allheatingelementsshallbeopencoiltypenichromewire mounted in ceramic insulators and located in an insulatedheavygaugegalvanizedsteelhousing. Allelementsshallterminateinamachinestakedstainlesssteel terminal secured with stainless steel hardware for corrosion resistance. Option:Provide3-wirefloatingpointmodulatingcontrolvalve (fail-in-place) in lieu of standard 2-position control valvewithfactoryassembledvalvepipingpackage.
