The FF informed that the Green building design conceptsare applicable for residential/office complexes. After this ECis obtained in 201 1, no such residential/office building are
constructed at the RlL, Silvassa site. Only industrial plants
have been set up.
However, the following measures have been taken to makethe complex green and energy efficient:
1. Used Hollow Block for the walls of the buildings;2. Used lnsulated Roof & Side Sheeting's in Auto Ware
House, PTY & Conveyor Tunnels, which are closedconstruction-against heat gain.
3. Used Air Locks to conserve loss of conditioned air toreduce power consumption ;
4. CFL lights have been used, energy efficient motors,optimization of air conditioning requirement by using airwasher concept and fresh air circulation system,thereby taking maximum advantage of ambienttemperature during non-peak summer days.
5. Used translucent sheets for maximizing the use ofnatural light during day time.
Further PP stated that for the projects yet to beimplemented, the building design shall be based on greenbuilding concept.
