For something a bit different, and a spectacular display of the working relationship between horse and dog, get along to the Fenix Carriage Dog Trials on 11th June.

Dalmatians were traditionally used to guard and decorate carriages in the 19th century and this event displays those attributes in a modern setting. Obedience and endurance tests combine to put dogs, horses and owners through their paces in ridden and driven classes.

The beautiful setting of the Rockbourne Ride provides the perfect backdrop for this day long event. If you fancy a whole weekend away, there will be a Fun Day in conjunction with the British Dalmatian Club the next day, with a variety of displays and lectures and many other exciting activities for Dalmatians and their owners.

The competition runs throughout Saturday from 9.30am. Entry is FREE for spectators and refreshments are available on site. Visit www.carriagedog.org
