The van

After producing the first draft of my movie poster I decided to get feedback from my media teacher to see if she could see any improvements. She said that I was going along the right lines, how-ever, instead of using the copyright free image of the van that I sourced from the internet I should try to use an image that I have produced myself. After this feedback I went about looking for someone I know with a van that I could use.

Brainwave

I thought that this would be a good idea as, from prior research, I have discovered that other movies such as ‘Raiders of the Lost Arc’ have also used hand drawn images for the poster.

I asked all over to try and find a van that I could use for my poster. However, I was unsuccessful in this so I decided that it might be a good idea to get one of my friends to draw it for me. My friend, Charlotte, is an incredible drawer so I asked her to draw a van for me.

Removing the background

In order to see the fading in the background of the poster I needed to remove the background of the drawing of the van. To do this I used the website ‘clipping magic’ as I have used it before and so know that it is reliable and easy to use.

I then removed the original image of the van and replaced it with my new one, layering the ‘more than meets the eye’ text over the side of the van once more.

Text

I then just had to add a few finishing touches to the poster. First I added all of the small print at the bottom of the page. As I was unsure how this should be structured I used the poster for ‘The silence of the Lambs’ as a template

After the text, I also decided to add twitter and facebook links, which provide other methods of promoting the film.
