TRANSCRIPT
Federating and Interoperating Tactical Networks.
Military Tactical Networks enable war-fighters to win the ‘information’ battle before a weapon is fired. Today’s and tomorrow’s military
operations require coalition allies to share and communicate information seamlessly and consistently within a Federated Mission
Network Environment. This presentation highlights how the Canadian Army achieves validation, verification and accreditation to operate on a
NATO Federated Mission Network, specifically in the context of standards based geospatial services using the ArcGIS Enterprise

CWIX MissionCWIX provides Nations, Agencies, Commands and Partners a stable, multi-domain, secure C4ISR testing environment in order to:
– Continuously improve interoperability effectiveness
– Leverage the human interactions that occur especially during execution to capitalize on potential innovations
Federated Mission Network Exercise
(FMN EX)
The purpose of the FMN Exercise focus area is to assess national capabilities (people, processes and technology) and their ability to instantiate a mission network following FMN Spiral Specifications.
In 2019, the FMN Exercise Focus Area is offered by NATO to the FMN Affiliates as a FMN-Readiness Confirmation Event for FMN Spiral 2 in the technicaland procedural domains.

ArcGIS RADARSAT Toolbar for ArcGIS
.
Department of National Defence has access to RADARSAT data today and will have unbridled access to data from the new Radarsat Constellation Mission (RCM) in the very near future. Having tools to exploit Radarsat data quickly and reliably enhances the ability for Geospatial Analysts to answer terrain and intelligence questions faster and more accurately. This demo highlights the ‘Radarsat Toolbar for ArcGIS’, developed by DND and Esri Canada.
Why? - RADARSAT Toolbar for ArcGIS
31
Development Objectives:
● Enable exploitation of RS-2 and RCM images in ArcGIS
● Reduce analyst workload by implementing semi-automated algorithms
& tools for SAR image analysis
● Address capability gaps in baseline software used by DND and CAF
R&D
Implementation

RADARSAT Toolbar Updates
32
● Primary objectives carried out under the latest SOW:
▪ Application to run on v 10.5.1
▪ Application to run on v 10.6.1
▪ GUI Update
▪ Help/User Guide update
▪ Implementation analysis of ArcGIS Pro
▪ Examine data ingest with RCM format
RADARSAT Toolbar for ArcGIS
33
● RS Toolbar represents a vastly improved way to access radar
data, appropriate for GIS Analysts
● Combines SAR image processing algorithms within GIS map
layers.
● Turns complex scientifically proven Radar analytics into simple
tools and information
