  • About the Children’s Literature Fes�val Idara-e-Taleem-O-Aagahi (ITA), Oxford University Press (OUP) in collabora�on with Open Society Founda�ons (OSF) and

    Federal College of Educa�on (FCE), are organizing a 2-day Children's Literature Fes�val (CLF) for the children of nd rdIslamabad/Rawalpindi and Pakistan on 2 and 3 of May 2014 from 9:00 am – 6:00 pm at the Federal College of Educa�on H-9,

    Islamabad.

    The CLF co-founded by Baela Raza Jamil and Ameena Saiyid started from Lahore in 2011. In the last 2 years, CLF held successful

    events in Que�a, Peshawar, Bahawalpur, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Swat, Sahiwal with an a�endance of over 150,000 children

    and adults.

    The Children's Literature Fes�val is a free public event. It is an exci�ng ini�a�ve aimed at promo�ng reading, crea�vity and

    cri�cal thinking among the children of the country. It is a torch-bearer campaign; an equalizer for all school systems to address

    the challenges of learning, reviving a culture of reading, and genera�ng content for textbooks and supplementary materials.

    An exci�ng and fun-filled programme is planned for the CLF Islamabad. It will feature talks, interac�ve readings, discussions and

    workshops by well-known children's authors, poets and ar�sts. The fes�val also includes sessions on crea�ve wri�ng,

    bookmaking, poetry, comics, digital stories, wri�ng book reviews as well as book launches, book fair, theatre, cartoon and

    puppet shows.

    Children and educators from all over the country will a�end the CLF as par�cipants. Ambassadors of CLF include Arfa Sayeda

    Zehra, Bapsi Sidhwa, Khaled Anam, Kishwar Naheed, Rumana Husain, Akram Dost, Munir A. Badini, Samar Minallah, Adeel

    Hashmi, Mira Hashmi, Nadia Jamil, Sania Saeed, Zobaida Jalal, Zubeida Mustafa, Fahd Husain, Fauzia Minallah.
