OPTIMUS is a general-purpose software program that captures and manages engineering work ows. It allows its users to visualize and quickly explore the design space with design of experiment and response surface modeling technologies to gain critical insight in possible design alternatives.

OPTIMUS nds the optimum design point using a combination of gradient methods for a quick analysis, or state-of-the-art genetic methods where multiple hills, valleys and saddles are anticipated in the response surface. Multi-objective optimization methods generate Pareto fronts, showing which trade-offs can be made between multiple, often competing objectives. Variability in the results is assessed and optimized with robustness and reliability methods.

OPTIMUS drives multi-disciplinary work ows and links to any simulation code, including commercially available and in-house developed tools. OPTIMUS delivers a real return on investment, enabling users to build better performing, more reliable, safer, and higher-quality products with their existing computer programs and models, while doing so much faster than ever before.

OPTIMUS for ABAQUS provides direct access to the binary ABAQUS output database (.odb le), and automates the use of ABAQUS as a component of an OPTIMUS work ow.

It gives users access in a graphical way to all available ABAQUS results in an OPTIMUS work ow, for all history and eld outputs, for both scalar and vector quantities, for the complete structure as well for all sub-parts of the ABAQUS model.
