"Did you lose something?" one asked me. I told them that earlier in the day, Id lost my wedding ring in the field. They immediately got close to the ground and began fingering through the grass, looking for it. I was distraught. It was cold and the sky was growing dark. Food Drive For a Cause Liberal Girl Scout Junior Troop 60005 and Brownie troop 60075 Hays and Garden City Regions joined together to host a food drive at the beginning of the holiday season with all donations going to the Community Baptist Church food bank. This year Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland partnered with Hays Recreation Commission (HRC) making the Thin Mint Sprint the third race in the HRCs four-5K race series. Having never participated earned the Red Cross Camouflage Cap for recruiting three or morein a 5K I felt there was a lot of excitement and peer support, which donors. Beloit Girls Give to Project LinusBrownie Troop #20650 from Beloit, Kansas recently completed several blankets for the Project Linus chapter in Salina RegionHays, KS. For the past 4 years this troop has been making blankets and completing this project. The girls cant waitto get started each year, said Troop Leader Terry Clingman.The blankets are given to children who are ill. Project Linus mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth andcomfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blanketsand afghans, lovingly created by volunteer blanketeers.
