Ealing Choral Society SUNDAY 18 MARCHBEETHOVEN: MISSA SOLEMNIS

Sinfonia Britannica, conducted by Jonathan Williams The Missa Solemnis in D Major, Op. 123 is a solemn mass composed by Ludwig van Beethoven from 1819 to 1823, around the same time as his Ninth Symphony. It is considered one of the composer’s supreme achievements and one of the most significant Mass settings of the period. The challenging nature of this dramatic work – for orchestra, choir and soloists – means that it can be less frequently performed than other works. Enjoy this rare opportunity to experience a true masterpiece.7pm. Cadogan Hall, 5 Sloane Terrace, London SW1X 9DQ£24, £17, £10 (ENCORE members 10% off)

Petros Singers SATURDAY 24 MARCHFOWER SOVEREYGNES REYGNES: THE MUSIC OF THOMAS TALLIS

This concert, featuring special guest ensemble The Marian Consort, explores the music of England’s first iconic composer, charting how his style developed to serve the fluctuating requirements of the four monarchs under whom he served. In so doing, we follow a period of tremendous social and religious upheaval and trace the genesis of Anglican liturgical music.7.30pm. St Barnabas, Pitshanger Lane, Ealing, W5 1QG £20 (concessions £17, under 18s/students £5)
