ABSTINENCE ~ As a sign of our penance, the Diocese of Albany preserves the custom of not eating meat on the Fridays of Lent. Therefore, all Catholics, 14 years of age and older are obliged to refrain from eating meat on the Fridays of Lent. By retaining this tradition for our Diocese, we do not intend that this be interpreted as law binding under pain of sin, but as a custom from which we will not hold ourselves lightly excused. It is an expression of our desire to be converted in our hearts, to be reconciled with each other, and to love our neighbor. It is helpful to remember that the ability to decide how much or little one will eat is in itself a gift.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS will be held with the children of

St. Thomas the Apostle School on the Fridays of Lent at 2 p.m.

(in the church); there will also be Stations of the Cross at 7

p.m.. (also in the church). All are welcome.

"RICE BOWLS" For Our Sister Parish and Catholic

Relief Services ~ We are pleased to continue to help meet

the financial needs of our sister parish in Mexico through your

generous donations during this Lenten season. And, as we

recognize that need and continue to support their mission, we

will also support Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and the won-

derful work they do throughout the world, with 75%

of CRS donations directed to global programs and 25% helping

those living in poverty in our Diocese. This Lent we will again

split your donations between these two programs. Please take

a "Rice Bowl", available at church entrances during Lent, for

your contributions to this shared program. We appreciate your

generosity to all those in need. Thank you.

Lenten Daily Reflection Booklet ~ To help us on this Len-ten journey we have ordered copies of The Magnificat Lenten Companion. Copies are available in the Gathering Hall (one per family, please). This handy little booklet provides a series of original reflections to guide us through every day of Lent into the heart of the Paschal mystery.

CONGRATULATIONS to the families of the following chil-dren who were baptized recently at St. Thomas: Robert Arthur Sandberg IV and Cadence Anne Frueh.

WELCOME NEW PARISHIONERS ~ Christopher and

Mariella Casey and their daughter, Ryan and Roxanne and Robert Ells and their daughter, Amelia Rose.

Bishop's Appeal 2019 ~ We are nearing the end of the Appeal which started last Spring. For those of you who made pledges please do what you can to honor that commit-ment. Final payments need to be at the Diocesan office by March 15 to count for the 2019 Appeal Thanks to all of you who are helping us meet our responsibility to the Diocese.

“God’s power can transform any of us into the best version of ourselves.” --Dr. Allen Hunt, The Turning Point

Welcome ~ Jack Simeone who has just joined one of our Pastoral Care Ministry Teams. We are happy to have you! You

can be a part of one (or more!) of our teams too! Our Pastoral Care Department offers a variety of opportunities to be of service to our neighbors. Give as little or as much time as you can! We provide training and schedules can be flexible. You truly get back more than you give. Contact Maura to find out more!

PLEASE REMEMBER IN PRAYER James Morgan whose funeral service was held recently at St. Thomas. May the Lord welcome him into Eternal Life. Prayer Chain ~ Members respond to urgent prayer inten-tions. Calls are confidential. Contact Pam Seward at: 518-439-7845 for your intention to be added.

ENVELOPES FOR EASTER ALTAR FLOWERS are now available in the office or at the Church entrances for those who would like to make a donation. If you choose to make a dona-tion in memory of a particular person, those memorials will be listed in the bulletin at Easter time. Please submit memorial donations that are to be listed in the bulletin to the parish office no later than Friday, April 3.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE SPRING CAMPAIGNS

Annual Divine Mercy Consecration – 33 Days to Mer-ciful Love ~ Bishop Scharfenberger is inviting Catholics throughout the diocese to join him in a 33-day preparation peri-od starting Tuesday, March 17, 2020 with the book: 33 Days to Merciful Love, by Father Michael Gaitley, MIC. The prepara-tion will lead to the annual diocesan Divine Mercy Conse-cration at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Divine Mercy Sunday, April 19, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Please find more information on the dedicated webpage: www.rcda.org/DivineMercyConsecration
