“Our Faith, Our Future”
School News
Parents of Eighth Graders: If your child has received any
type of scholarship, (not financial assistance) please send in a
copy of the letter from the high school. We wish to recognize
our eighth grade students and we also like to keep track of
this for our records.
School registrations for the 2017-2018 school year are due on
Monday.
Attention EdChoice families: Renewal forms were sent out
by the State of Ohio weeks ago. If you have not returned
your renewal and current Proof of Residency to school,
please do so as soon as possible. Renewal forms are also
available on the EdChoice website.
Just a reminder to Jon Peterson families that we will not be a
Jon Peterson provider next year. Your child will receive
services from Mrs. Bartholomew. You will need to pay full
tuition next year.
As many of you know, St. Teresa has a new website! This
week we invite you to take a look at the school calendar on-
line. This calendar enables you to access our school schedule
anywhere from your smart phone or computer and have up-
to-date information when events change. A copy of the
March calendar is attached; however, next school year we
will be using the Google calendar exclusively. Give it a try!

February 23, 2017
Dear St. Teresa Families,
Iowa Testing will begin on March 6 for grades 2 - 7. It is imperative that your child is
on time to school this entire week during testing. If the child is late, he/she will not be
able to take the test at the designated testing period and will have to miss class time to
make up the test. In addition, I ask that you do not schedule any doctor or dentist
appointments during this week so as not to interfere with testing.
Testing week can be an anxious time for students, as their regular schedule is
interrupted and the school day as they know it changes. You can help your child(ren)
alleviate some of this anxiety by doing the following:
Talk to your child about testing week and reassure them in a positive way.
Remain calm and discuss the confidence you have in your child.
Give your child a nutritious breakfast each day of the test, but don’t make an
issue if they refuse to eat.
Don’t argue or have an upsetting conversation the mornings of testing. Try to
keep the morning routine the same.
Celebrate the end of testing week for yourself and your child.
Please encourage your child to try his/her best on the test. The results of these tests are
used in many different facets here at St. Teresa, from determining placement into the
Advanced programs to determining if a child is special needs etc. We also use this data
to assess our instructional program here at St. Teresa to develop school improvement
plans.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.
Sincerely,
Sharon Willmes Principal
