FROM THE DESK OF THE CEO
The holidays are over and it is back to work for shire staff. As has become the norm at this time of the year there have been a few people who have left the shire for various reasons this year we say goodbye to Roz Derrick, Danny Gloede and Rob Ramonfosse. Advertising is well under way for a replacement grader driver and mechanic with both positions attracting some interest while a new truck driver Andrew Mann has recently commenced work. Staff Housing has emerged as an issue with both Roz Derrick and Danny Gloede owning their own homes in town needing to be replaced by people who will require a house. Council will be looking at options for staff housing including possible renovations at the old police house. The Shires annual financial statements and audit report were adopted by Council at their December meeting and the 2016-2017 Annual Report is complete for the annual electors meeting which is to be held at 4.30pm on Friday 9
th February in Council Chambers. Please pick up a copy
of the report and come along and have your say on the performance of your shire for last financial year. Other than that it is a relatively quiet time of the year for the shire with no Council meeting held in January but rest assured those office staff that are working have plenty to catch up on and the 6 monthly budget review will keep me busy. Please have a safe, happy and healthy 2018
