Dear Friends and Fellow NOMADS – 2014 promises to be

one of the best years for NOMADS. Over the last two

years our membership committee generated enough

enthusiasm that NOMADS added over fifty new

members to our ranks. These new members are bringing

so much energy and fresh perspective that it has our

heads spinning. Kudos to Lesley Hadella, Jerry Hebert

and Michael Dyll; their dedication to the membership

drives and YP events has been very affective.

2014 kicked off with an eventful January and February.

We welcomed Bob Tippee of Oil & Gas Journal to the

HESS Club to present the 2014 Forecast which served to

reinforce our need to become an energy independent

nation. February was topped off by a very enjoyable Annual Gala at the

Houston Racquet Club inaugurating yours truly where I was fortunate to have

nearly my entire immediate family present. I cannot express how honored I feel

to serve as your 2014 President. Ken & Ruthie Gibbs…you really out did your

selves with this event.

Due up this month is the March 11th Dinner meeting with guest speaker and

longtime NOMADS member Mr. Larry Keast, CEO of Venturetech. If you are not

aware of all that Larry does for our manufacturing community, you should

attend and let him tell you. Beginning next month, Lesley has a few interesting

events in store for us…Ladies’ Night Out on Tuesday, April 8th, and Patrick Leach,

Decisions Strategies will be our guest speaker Tuesday, May 20th. Don’t forget

the NOMADS/AADE OTC Cocktail Party is fast approaching on Monday, May 5th

at Reliant Center.

Before letting you skirt off to the next pages, I strongly urge all of our members

to become passionately involved in the advancement of energy issues.

Regardless of the myopic politics of the current administration, I want to remind

everyone that we are all stewards and caretakers of our energy future. It

remains the responsibility of organizations such as NOMADS to not only

promote our industry to foreign fields but to our own uneducated public who

will always hear Chicken Little chirping doom from every bureaucrat on Capitol

Hill and self-perpetuating agency in Washington, D.C.
