It was great to see round three of the Nutri Grain Iron Man & Iron Woman Series head to Newcastle last weekend.

Although Newcastle may not be on the top of Matt Poole’s favourite list after he spent some time up in the air with Aerobatic Pilot Matt Hall. Apparently the screaming heard was an interesting tactic to scare the shark away that was sighted at Newcastle on the Saturday before the race. Clearly that worked!

We are certainly glad though, that despite missing the flight to Newcastle, Alyce Bennett still managed to get there to take out her best finish this year of 3rd place on the podium in the women’s race. Obviously the long train ride did not affect her performance at all, in fact that should be the tactic next round as well.

With two rounds to go there is plenty of room for movement on the points ladder with several Kracka Team riders still in the hunt for a podium finish in the series.

REDUCED WAITING TIMES!!The days of waiting 12 months for a Kracka board are long gone. In fact, Wayne and the factory staff have been working very hard to get our waiting list right down and the current wait time is only 8-10 weeks! So, if you want to start training for next season early, now is the perfect time to order your board.

NSW State & Aussie titles are just around the corner and the good news is Kracka will be holding a stall at both events.

So, if you’re up that way, come and visit us - you never know who you’ll run into !!

2012 Australia Day Community Award Winner

RACHELLE KINGTerrigal SLSC

Congratulations to Kracka rider Rachelle King, from Terrigal SLSC who has won the Gosford City Australia Day Community Award for her achievements and contribution to Surl Life Saving.

Gosford City Council’s media release summed up Rachelle’s achievements as follows:

“Rachelle is a very talented athlete who has achieved great results in her chosen field of Surf Life Saving. Rachelle has outstanding results as an individual and as also part of a team. She placed well at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships in April 2011, achieving a number of podium finishes. As part of the Australian Under 19 Development Team, Rachelle competed in the 2011 Arafura Games and placed first in three events with podium finishes in many others. She continued these great performances into the 2011 Australian Royal Surf Life Saving Championships with two first places and podium finishes in the eight other events she contested.

Rachelle has been an outstanding role model to younger surf life savers with her dedication and sportsmanship and has spent many hours patrolling Terrigal Beach to ensure safe swimming for visitors and the community”

In Newcastle for the Iron Woman series, Tenille Devine took some time out to get the feel of a new piece of equipment. You’ll certainly get some speed up on that Ducatti Tenille, but it won’t float very well in the surf !
