Welcome Guests

Your choice to join us in worship to God is a blessing to us. You are our honored

guests and It is our privilege to welcome you this morning. If you have not previ-

ously worshipped with the Northwest Tampa Church of Christ, we would like to fa-

miliarize you with our service. Our style of worship is simple, patterned after the

examples and teachings of the earliest Christians in the New Testament.

Singing: You will notice our worship in song is without instrumental accompani-

ment. We believe that a cappella congregational singing both enhances our per-

sonal involvement in worship, and conforms to the New Testament example.

Lord’s Supper: Following the example of the early church, we celebrate the Lord’s

Supper every Sunday (Acts 20:7). Jesus established the practice of sharing the bread

and cup so Christians might remember the sacrifice of his body and blood to make a

new covenant with God possible for us.

Offering: This is the opportunity for our members to support the ongoing work of

this church.

Preaching: The message, is the time when the “good news” is proclaimed and ap-

plied to our lives. We hope you will find it encouraging and Bible-based.

Invitation: At the close of most sermons, an “invitation” is extended. This provides

an opportunity for a public response. These responses may be to state one’s desire

to be baptized, bring a prayer concern before the church family, recommit one’s life

to the Lord, or be introduced as new members.

Ordination and Appreciation of Elders & Deacons– February 9

Next Sunday we will be ordaining our new Elders and Deacons and also

showing our appreciation for all of our Elders and Deacons. We do antici-

pate our service going longer than usual. Because of this, we will not be hav-

ing Bible class afterwards.

New Elders: Keith Boyer, Tim Thompson, New Deacons: Mark Cain, Mike

Jaroch, Jeff Moore and Mauricio Perdigon.

Fishing Fellowship Saturday, March 8

Please join us on March 8 for some fishing and fellowshipping at Ballast Point Pier, located at 5300 Interbay Blvd. We will be fishing from 6AM to noon and no, you don’t have to be there at 6AM.

COOK OUT will follow at 12:30 in the park, hamburgers and hot

dogs will be provided. It isn’t necessary but you may bring a

side to share. If you have any questions please contact Cody

Corbell at 727-364-5262 or Susan Corbell at 727-534-0764.

Today’s Message

What God Wants for You

Introduction:

A. Personally I think many people are searching for a concept of God they

can grasp and understand. They are looking for a place to connect. And

they do want help with practical ways to live a happy life.

B. And it is my belief that God gives us and shows us the answer to each of

those needs.

I. God’s __________________ is to Save You

A. The Bible’s greatest depiction and description of God is that he is our Fa-

ther! And that His greatest pleasure comes in seeing His children, you and

me, saved! (John 3:16)

B. The major difference between your earthly father and your heavenly father

is your dad is imperfect and your God is perfect! (Matt. 6:9-13)

C. God loves you supremely and wants you saved (2 Peter 3:9; 1 Tim. 2:4)

II. God’s ____________ Will Surround You

A. Many people are seeking a place to connect but struggle with their

choices.

B. We all need friends - it’s a blessing to have folks who are close to us and

love us and care for us (Proverbs 18:24; Proverbs 27:9; Proverbs 27:17).

C. We are thankful for our friends and family however God also created an-

other family in which people could connect – church, a community of be-

lievers!

D. Now granted we are an imperfect group. But it is God who puts us in the

group (Acts 2:47).

III. God’s _____________ Will Satisfy You

A. Most people I know just want to live a happy life.

B. Most think more money and more stuff would make them happy (Eccl.

2:10-11; Luke 12:15; John 10:10).

Conclusion:

So in reality God simply wants what’s best for you! “Eye hath not seen, nor ear

heard…the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him”

(1 Corinthians 2:9).
