Hello everybody! I hope this Edition finds you doing welland staying warm. I hope this is the last shot we get of thatwinter air. Look around you, see if anyone you knows needs

help in some way to keep warm. There are a few shelters open in ourcounty too. Call around, make sure ‘the one’s you care about, are cared for’.

Due to the extreme volume of e-mails I’ve received I can say for sure of this...I knowwhat topics you are concerned about. But what surprises me is that you and I both knowthat the county officials are not concerned with the same concerns as US’ citizens.

There are 2 ways to get them to notice you. Either attend meetings and make your face be known and or complain for extensive years and hope that ‘new blood’ comes in andcorrects what no one else has done yet. Why is asking for a road to be staked out andgraded to specs of our survey such a big issue? Because we have several people whokeep moving stakes for grade-work. Drainage of rainwater has now changed due to peo-

ple altering the natural drain of the land and now the road suffers?I’m sure you heard me over the years state issues of facts about my own road I live on.

We have an individual who resides on Hwy. 331 using the side of our road as his debris

catch all. He prevents the road crew from grading the road correctly because of his over-site of his property line. The same man who built and expanded a garage just months agowithin 2’ of his property line (along our road). So, it’s been 6 mos. code enforcement?Set back rules clearly in violation, no permits were pulled and now……..What is that?Trees that were marked to be removed for the road years ago have been taken down bysame stake puller for years and years now. I heard it’s against the Law to pull up mark-ers? Yea, right…..not one time in 8 times since this road has been turned over to thecounty, has he ever been warned or even fined for such violations. State workers cameout 3 times for them to do the same thing over? What a waste!

It’s come to the point that all organizations throughout the state has been made wellaware of this person and our situation. We now have state involvement to a county issue.WHY? Because this county will not do what they are paid and expected to do!

Got an issue? Call them. You can enjoy the long time run-a-round stories of why onecan’t do this but yet, it’s not our call, to police saying….how do we know where the roadactually is if they don’t stake it? I requested the same thing over 10 years ago.

By simply marking a roadway, helps the police identify illegal dumping along right ofways on your roads. Public works? What is that? They tell us citizens, what they will andwill NOT do. When we pay their salary? Talk about tax dollars at waste. How many po-sitions does it take to do nothing about nothing? I see way too many sheep followingalong to get a check, that’s it. You and I are just tax paying citizens who chose to live inWalton county because of it’s residential, rural environment.

Only after you experience any dealing with any official from the county you then seewhy the north side of the bay is so lost…..people have read me the Laws he broke yet

they won’t do it cause it’s not their department? Work together! I have endless hours ofwasted time as I see it to be now, trying to go through the wheels of justice. My right tolive in peace. Who enforces that? Coming from an advanced city gave me a keen eye-sight of what’s really going on around here. Good ol’ boys trying to protect their buddiesfrom being busted for illegal doings. You all know who you are.

Here’s one for you folks. During my research I was told by Public Works that if youlive on a private road you can hire the county to grade your road correctly. Now, that ourroad is ‘county’ maintained? We get nothing done to what was promised to be done 2generations before the people in place now. What will they do different? Haven’t seen orheard a word from them in months. The building remains where it is, encroaching theeasement for EMS and Fire dept. a safe distance for 2 way traffic. Yet, I complain. Noth-ing has been done.

There a few interesting meetings coming up where myself and a few other individualswill be investigating deeper into the lack of willingness to work with citizens about is-sues such as this and several others we have discovered along the way.

Let me make this clear. If the original first complaint 11 years ago would have beendealt with properly. There would not have been 45 more complaints from all the other

people on our road over the last 9yrs and still counting. Still waiting to see my surveymatch the surrounding survey/layouts for our property along our road.

With the amount of E-mails I get from all of you people. Whether it’s a school prob-lem, safety issue or even just wanting a county employee to do their job. It shouldn’t takefor us to take up time in our court systems to have a judge decide who will do what andwhen. But if that’s the way you want it to go, then it will.

Levels of seniority in every county paid employees system. Designed to service theneeds of the community and it’s citizens! If you insist I lead the fight I will. I haven’t hadanyone speak up for me since the first hearing I attended, so I shouldn’t be expected todo all your talking too. There are problems and there are situations that the Law muststep in and take control. Simple as it seems property lines are drawn for what reason? Toshow you and others what YOU own. It is Federal offense to mess with those lines, didyou know that? Just call the state, they were more helpful than this county is.

It’s never too late to ‘get involved’. As a society we will gather in time of needfor others, that is what community is all about. Enforce property lines….. Just as we saw abuse from our government officials all over our nation, watch

where your tax dollars are going and see how it is being spent. If you don’tagree with it, go to a meeting and speak up….let’s work together! Changes only come when enough people call to order of descent standards for

which we all can live by. Therefore there are Laws / rules to follow or be jailed.**If it isn’t on your property it is on someone else’s….county, then state. Keepyou and your stuff on your own property line with setbacks properly integrated.

Or else we all can grandfather anything, ‘wrong. Stop the crap. We want to be proud of our surroundings. Let’s weed out the problem, deal with it, head on!

These 6 Famous People Have All Gone to PRISON

for Owing Less Taxes Than Al Sharpton

It was recently revealed by the New York Times that the professional race baiting hustler and extortionistAl Sharpton owes millions of dollars in unpaid taxes.

Both Sharpton’s nonprofit National Action Network, and his for-profit business ventures, are facing bank-ruptcy, and reportedly owe more than $3.7 million in federal and state taxes. Sharpton has brushed off theaccusations, and feels as though he shouldn’t even have to pay taxes, because of racism or something. Hesays the story is merely a political hitjob, which is hilarious, considering the source of the story is the decid-edly non-conservative New York Times, not exactly known for doing political hitjobs on the friends ofPresident Obama. However, Sharpton may want to go ahead and make preparations for an extended stay in prison, as arecent piece by Elizabeth MacDonald from Fox Business details six famous people who were impris-

oned over lesser amounts of unpaid taxes.Chuck Berry The legendary pioneer of rock and roll served a five month sentence in a California prisoncamp back in 1979, after being found guilty of evading $200,000 in taxes. He also served 1,000 hours ofcommunity service after his release from the camp.Pete Rose

The iconic baseball star pleaded guilty in 1990 to filing false federal tax returns. He spent five months in afederal prison and was fined $50,000 for failing to report more than $350,000 in income derived from feescharged for personal appearances, along with memorabilia and autograph sales.Richard Hatch The former winner of the “Survivor” reality TV show was convicted in 2006 for failing to pay taxes on the$1+ million he earned from the TV show. He served just over three years before being released, on condi-tion that he refile his returns from 2000 and 2001. Hatch failed to do so, and was returned to prison for anadditional nine months, ultimately owing more than $2 million once all the penalties and interest wereadded to the original debt.

Leona Helmsley The billionaire real estate mogul and heiress was sentenced in 1992 to four years in prison for failing to pay$1.2 million in avoided taxes. She ultimately served 21 months, did 750 hours of community service, andwas hit with a punitive $7.1 million fine. Her case wasn’t helped when a maid revealed during trial that

Helmsley had said, “We don’t pay taxes, only little people pay taxes.” Lauryn Hill The hip-hop singer pleaded guilty in 2012 to charges of failing to pay taxes on more than $1.8 million inearnings from several years earlier. Even though she had nearly repaid all of her back taxes before sentenc-ing, she was still ordered to serve three months in federal prison, along with another three months of housearrest after her release.Ron Isley The lead singer of The Isley Brothers was convicted of multiple counts of tax evasion and willful failure tofile taxes over the course of many years, with a cumulative total of more than $3.1 million owed. He servedthree years in prison, despite his age and health issues, due to being a “serial tax avoider.”  Al Sharpton had better watch out, as much more well-liked people have done federal prison time forowing the IRS unpaid taxes in far smaller amounts than what he owes.

positive progress toward their goal. Of the 255 students, 130 were consid-ered to be underweight, overweight or obese. Of those underweight, 71

percent made positive progress toward their goal weight, and 59 percent of

After doing some research from information in yourlast few editorials. What I found to be disturbing is

that in most of all cases. The original complaintfiled upon one’s residence is given a short spank onthe wrist. Nothing is done to keep it from again? However, throughout this county, there are several

situations where code enforcement has been called, yet the situation seemed to only progress? Codecomes out after a complaint gets filed and they tryto close the case so not to have to deal with any reallevel issues.

I found it amazing that when one complaint retali-ated with a bogus filed complaint. Get this, code

enforcement jumps quickly to recent complaintfiled….. instead of informing the citizens who com- plained about property line infractions, in the first place. Over 7 mos. ago….still no answers.

Public works lies along with them by telling uscitizens that they will not come down our road andstake it out. But once the bogus filed complaint waswrote? They come stake out one portion of said

property in 2 days? Only to see there was no infrac-tions to substantiate complaint. The whole road?We give the process a chance for over 10yrs tomend this error, not until attorney get in , do they

jump. Why is our tax $$ paying for incompetence?

vals to be permitted and Chapter Four of the

Walton County Code of Ordinances relating to music and entertainmentfestivals; providing for definitions; providing for a permitting system forOutdoor Events; providing for exemptions; establishing new regulationsand review of Outdoor Events; establishing additional conditions and fees;requiring liability insurance; providing for penalties, severability, and an

    effective date.

Measles: A Tale of Two Outbreaks

The current measles outbreak, which has topped 100 cases so far, is

believed to have started at two Disney theme parks in California.

But it’s not the first time measles has been spread through a big theme

     park.

Two years ago, measles passed through a theme park in Orlando, FL.

The grand total of cases in that outbreak? Five, including a tourist fromBrazil. Those cases got little notice. The California outbreak, on theother hand, has parents scared and angry, politicians taking stands onvaccination, and public health officials in 14 states bracing for a second

    wave of infections.

What made the difference? How did one outbreak flame while the otherfizzled? “Part of it, of course, is just luck. When you have patients whoare infectious, it all depends on how many non-immunized people they

    come across..

Public health officials agree.“I can only speculate, but I think that we have a higher vaccination ratein Central Florida compared to the areas of California affected by the

outbreak,” says Tania Slade, epidemiology program manager at theFlorida Department of Health. “Herd immunity likely prevented thefurther spread of measles in our community.” Herd immunity means that since many people in a group, or “herd,” arevaccinated against a disease, the few people in the group who aren’timmunized also get protection from the illness. The disease won’tspread in their group since most people can’t catch it. Slade declined to name the theme park involved since the outbreak isover, and she doesn’t want to spook visitors. Tourism is the area’s big-gest industry, after all.But as public health officials in Florida have watched the California

case count climb, they've realized they were lucky. “We’re very relievedwe dodged that bullet,” she says.In Orange County, FL, the health de-

partment determined that four sick children from one unvaccinated fam-ily -- who had claimed a religious exemption -- exposed 528 students,50 school faculty and staff, 24 kids and adults on a sports team, 15 peo-

ple who visited the same pediatric urgent care clinic they went to, 67teachers and kids at a day care, and an unknown number of church pa-rishioners. After tracing all those possible chains of infection, they onlyfound just three others who were unvaccinated and possibly exposed.Three.Call us for more information and if you need vaccine, set up an appt.

    HEALTHMARK

    HEALTH MATTERS

    Childhood Obesity

Childhood obesity is a serious medical

condition and occurs when a child iswell above the normal weight for his orher age and height. Childhood obesity is

particularly troubling because those ex-tra pounds often lead to health problemslater such as diabetes, high blood pres-sure and high cholesterol. Childhoodobesity can also lead to poor self-esteemand depression.

One of the best strategies to reduce childhood obesity is to improve the diet and exercise habits ofthe entire family. Although there are some genetic and hormonal causes of childhood obesity, most

of the time it's caused by kids eating too much and exercising too little. Many factors —  usually working in combination —  increase a child's risk of becoming over-

weight. For instance, loading up on fast foods, soft drinks containing sugar, candy and desserts can cause

quick weight gain. Foods and beverages like these are high in sugar, fat and calories. Children whodo not burn calories through physical activity but instead spend their time watching television or

playing video games, will also have a problem. If a child comes from a family of overweight people, he or she may be more likely to put on ex-

cess weight. Genetics affects weight gain but even that can be controlled.Part of the solution starts at the grocery store. If the groceries parents buy are mostly convenience

foods, such as frozen meals, cookies, chips, crackers and canned foods that usually contain a lot ofsalt and fats, overweight children will have difficulty losing weight.

Not all the weight problems are physical. Overweight children often suffer from low self-esteemand endure bullying by other children. Overweight children tend to have more anxiety and poorersocial skills than normal-weight children have, too.

Parents - you are in charge! Parents are the ones who buy the food, cook the food anddecide where the food is eaten.

When buying groceries, choose more fruits and vegetables. Always have healthysnacks available and never use food as a reward or punishment. Limit sweetened bever-ages, including fruit juice. These drinks provide little nutritional value and can makeyour child feel too full to eat healthier foods.

Sit down together for family meals. Discourage eating in front of a television, com- puter or playing a hand-held video game at the table. Limit the number of times chil-

dren eat out, especially at fast-food restaurants.Good habits established in childhood help adolescents maintain healthy weight de-spite the hormonal changes, rapid growth and social influences that often lead to over-eating. Active children are more likely to become fit adults.

If your child is overweight or obese, contact Dr. Tom Roberts, P.A., at HealthmarkWalk-In Clinic, (850) 951-4556.

     Editor’s Note:

ISIS head on the run, ‘frightened’ for his life, Jordan saysThe head of ISIS is “frightened” for his life after 7,000 jihadists were slaughtered in airstrikes thisweekend, Jordanian officials crowed.Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was on the run Sunday, a Jordanian general boasted, ashis nation ramped up bombing efforts in Syria in response to the barbaric killing of captured Jorda-nian pilot Muath al-Kaseasbeh. “He is frightened by what we did in the last three days,” Maj. Gen.Mansour al-Jabour “[ISIS leadership] always hide and they are always on the move but we haveassets always in the air for an opportunity to target al-Baghdadi and his gang.” The air force chief announced Sunday that his jet fighters had conducted 56 bomb raids in justthree days against ISIS opposition —  killing at least 7,000 militants, according to The ChristianTimes. But US officials were skeptical about his claims on Monday.“It was not 7,000 killed over the weekend,” a source told the Post. “I think the general meant 7,000total killed since the beginning [of the air campaign].”

“There are around twenty to thirty thousand ISIS troops currently,” the source added. “The generalmay have just screwed it up. Or the information got garbled during the interview. The Jordanian strikes that took place over the past three days were aimed at key Islamic State basesand arms depots in northeast Syria, al-Jabour said. “We are determined to wipe them from the faceof the Earth,” he told Reuters. “We achieved what we aimed for. We destroyed logistics centers, arms depots and targeted hideouts of their fighters.” “If [al-Baghdadi] is not frightened, let himshow himself to us,” al-Jabour added. “He’ll see what we can do against him.” Jordan’s King Abdullah vowed to seek revenge against ISIS last week after al-Kaseasbeh wasfilmed being burned alive in a cage by Islamic State jihadists. On Sunday, al -Jabour said the mili-tary’s objectives were ultimately to kill al-Baghdadi, bring down the terrorists’ illicit oil trade anddestroy their training bases, garrisons and command centers, The Christian Times reports.“We will not hesitate” to kill al-Baghdadi, the general explained to NBC. “He is going to be on top

of our list.” Al-Baghdadi’s whereabouts are unknown, and officials admit he may no longer be inSyria. The last time he was seen in public was in July 2014  —  delivering a public address at amosque in Mosul, Iraq. Meanwhile Monday, a recruiter for ISIS was killed in Afghanistan by amissile fired from a drone, Afghan officials said. Mullah Abdul Rauf, a former Taliban commandercaptured by the US and held at Guantanamo Bay, was among six people killed in the strike in Hel-mand province, Reuters reported, citing Helmand officials.

    Funny. Lookthe ‘Editor isCapricorn…..

Dear Editor,I have just sat down to enjoy your biweekly

publication as always and came across your arti-

cle about the crematory. Having a past historyassociated with the funeral business, I can assureyou that everything that has been said about theoperation of such being completely toxic and pol-lution free is totally correct. I think that the big-gest issue here is that we all need to educate our-selves in the very popular way that Americans arechoosing burial. By my research, more that 59%of all burials in the past year in the United Stateswere by cremation. That is not my personalchoice, but it is that of millions. Where the build-ing sits really has no bearing on the operation ofit. Believe it or not, there is a crematory in FortWalton Beach....Where? In the heart of down-town! And the crematory in Crestview? You gotit! Right downtown! The thing is, if you pass the

building and have no idea what goes on there, you'd never know. We seem to have in our mindsa building with smokestacks billowing out smokeand that simply is not the case. Had the issue nothad to go before the city council for approval andMr. Glenn just come along and erected his build-ing and gone about his business, no one would

have ever known what was going on inside. I alsoknow the track record of the Glenn family to beone that assures me that whatever structure they

build on their property will do nothing but en-hance the looks of our community. they have

proven that time and again. So, do encourageyour readers to Google and investigate cremationif they have questions. It is the way of the future, and truly not as grotesque as some may think.

    Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the info. Send in anytime!

You know who your friends are, as they've likely proved their loyalty time and time again, but what abouta new acquaintance? You may have reservations based on gossip you've heard, but it's likely they're un-founded. If you give this person a chance, he or she could become a very supportive friend in the future.

It's time to get started on plans that have been on the back burner.

Although you're in the driver's seat, you could have difficulty steering activities in the direction youshould go. This can be due to a spiritual focus whereby happenings occur out of the blue, disrupting your

best-laid plans. For now you might have to go with the flow and see where it takes you. Don't let this keep

you from planning ahead. It's great to do so long as you remain flexible.

In a fairly laid-back week, the pace quickens which might ease a misunderstanding with a friend. Later, however, Saturn's presence could encourage you to hold back even if the influence of a friend or partner

tempts you to throw caution to the wind. The ability to read between the lines can be helpful if someone's behavior becomes a bit of a mystery.

Your natural charm encourages others to involve you in their plans, and in the case of a love interest, toseek to make you happy as well. This is certainly a great time for an active social life, whether you're ea-ger to expand your network of friends or encourage business acquaintances. Career plans take a step

ahead as Mercury pushes forward from midweek. It's now time to sign contracts, commit to projects.

A sense of responsibility can keep you busy with plans and new ideas, but there's benefit to be gainedfrom a willingness to be of service. News received from friend could put you in a good mood, especiallyif it concerns a project you're working on together. Finally, if you feel an urge to study, don't put it off. By

taking a course or class or getting a qualification of some kind.

The current Pisces focus encourages you to reach for a higher goal, as by doing so the cosmos may grantyour wish. You might be motivated to explore workshops or retreats that put you back in touch with yourinnate spirituality. If it's silence you seek, a short break at a sanctuary or other peaceful resort can help

you feel like yourself again. When you emerge you'll be fresh, energized, and ready for the next.

Focus on your social life could stir up lively involvement with new or old acquaintances. Though indica-tions are good for relationships overall, try not to overextend yourself, especially if you've been burningthe candle at both ends. A focus on shared resources encourages care when applying for credit or loans.

Be sure to read the fine print before you sign.

There's plenty of inspiration out there if you seek creative expression. The Pisces focus can be excellentfor attending cultural events such as concerts, art exhibitions, or anything else that takes your fancy. If this

motivates you to have a go yourself, then so much the better! Meanwhile, new people will be coming intoyour life who can brighten your outlook and open the door to fresh possibilities.

Don't beat around the bush where health matters are concerned, particularly if you're baffled by yoursymptoms. Rather than worry yourself unnecessarily, take practical action by going to see a profes-sional. On another note, it's possible you're thinking of changing jobs yet are uncertain of where to ap-

ply. Saturn's presence in Sagittarius encourages you to research your options and think outside the box.

If you can't decide what to do next, this might be a signal that you need to retreat from the bustle ofdaily life and give yourself time to think. The current focus may see you heading off into nature to calmyour mind and connect with your deeper feelings. Go easy this week, as rushing won't accomplish any-

thing and might even make matters worse.

Frustrations could arise if you feel that others aren't receptive to your views. This week try not to takecriticism personally. See what you can learn from the comments and use them as incentive to improve.Meanwhile, romance, creative expression, or other interests may leave much to be desired, and it could

be due to financial restrictions. Persistence in resolving such problems will bring rewards.

You'll be relieved to know that Mercury pushes ahead in your personal financial sector, hopefully bringing an end to any delays or misunderstandings you've experienced recently. Although it may not be plain sailing straight out of the gate, you'll soon find things begin to bob along nicely. Continue tokeep receipts, however. Your imaginative mindset can be helpful for coming up with creative ideas

with a touch of magic about them. Don't ignore those flights of fancy - they could turn to gold.

A story of love, devotion and

    second chances

Dogs have an amazing capacity for love.Sometimes, two dogs arrive at Alaqua Ani-mal Refuge with a strong bond, a relation-ship of love and support. This is the story

of Marigold and Poppy, two terrier mixes, around 10 pounds each. We share thisstory, with love, in celebration of Valen-tine's Day.They arrived at Alaqua, on a hot summerday. They were frightened and withdrawn,

but they had each other. One supportingand comforting the other. It was a close

bond, so Alaqua knew it was best to keepthem together. After a lot of love and reha-

     bilitation, their personalities began to

emerge. Marigold, a loving and faithfulgirl, her sweet disposition blossomingwhen she's with her favorite person.Poppy, a protector of Marigold, and loyalcompanion to his chosen human. Both love

being with people, and snuggling. Twofaithful companions, that are also devotedto each other.Marigold and Poppy share a kennel atAlaqua, which they always keep tidy. Theyenjoy their time in the playground, wherethey play well with the other dogs. The

latest chapter in their story, was a decisionto send them to the Unconditional LoveProgram, Yes, they are in prison, but notlike Bonnie and Clyde. This program isteaching them to be good canine citizens,to learn their commands, and to gain selfconfidence. The love that Marigold and Poppy have foreach other has helped them to survive. Wehope that once they return from the Uncon-ditional Love Program, they find a loving

home of their own. Could that person beyou? Please come visit them, they willcapture your heart. Now that you knowtheir story, you might be the one to

make their Valentine's wish come true.

Florida Residents Urged to Get Vaccinated Against Measles

The Florida Department of Health is working with other state and federal offi-cials to monitor individuals who may have been exposed to measles casesacross the state. In the past two weeks, four cases of measles have been identi-fied and reported among travelers with unknown or no measles vaccinations

who visited Florida. Two cases involved international travelers.

While there are no confirmed cases among Florida residents at this time, peo- ple who may have come into contact with infected individuals are being noti-fied and counseled. The department continues to work closely with the medi-cal provider community in an effort to maintain its current level of readiness

to identify cases and respond to any diagnosed cases of measles in Florida.

"The smartest step any resident can take to protect themselves against thisgrowing health threat is to get vaccinated,” said Dr. Alan Pillersdorf, Presi-dent, Florida Medical Association. "Vaccines are available at your local doc-tor's office and at all Local County Health Departments at a minimal cost or

free. These vaccines are safe and play a vital role in creating a barrier betweenthe human population and this virus.”

The most effective form of protection from this virus is through vaccination.Children should be immunized against measles with the combination measles, mumps and rubella vaccine (MMR) and should receive two doses, with thefirst at 12 to 15 months of age, and the second at four to six years of age. Peo-

ple with underlying health conditions should discuss with their health care provider to determine the need for additional booster doses. The departmentencourages all Floridians who have not been immunized to get vaccinated

    immediately.

    By Rian Lyday

More than 36 million heart-shaped boxes are sold for Valentine’s each year. The average man spends about $130 on his Valentine.

About 8 billion candy hearts will be produced this year; that could stretch from Rome,Italy to Valentine, Arizona and back again…20 times!

Throughout the world, over 50 million roses are given for Valentine’s Day each year. Women buy 85% of all Valentine’s Day cards sold.

Teachers receive more Valentines than any other person. In the middle ages, people drew names out of a bowl to see who their Valentine would beand wore the name of that person for a week…thus the saying, “to wear your heart onyour sleeve.”Juliet, of Romeo and Juliet, receives over 1,000 letters in Verona on Valentine’s Day eachyear. The oldest surviving love poem is written on a clay tablet from the Sumerians around3500 BC.Around 3% of pet owners will give a Valentine Day gift to their pets.It is believed that if you see a flock of doves on Valentine’s Day, you will have a long and

peaceful marriage.Richard Cadbury made the first candy box in 1868.In Victorian times it was considered bad luck to sign a Valentine’s Day card. The most popular theory about Valentine's Day origin is that Emperor Claudius II didn'twant Roman men to marry during wartime. Bishop Valentine went against his wishes and

performed secret weddings. For this, Valentine was jailed and executed. While in jail hewrote a note to the jailor's daughter signing it "from your Valentine".Physicians of the 1800s commonly advised their patients to eat chocolate to calm their

     pining for lost love.

15 percent of U.S. women send themselves flowers on Valentine's Day.220,000 is the average number of wedding proposals on Valentine's Day each year.
