St. John the Baptist Parish Mission Statement

Established in 1922, the parish family of

St. John the Baptist Church welcomes

and invites all people to our community,

especially those in need. Guided by the Holy Spirit we

are sustained by the Sunday Eucharist, the Word of

God, and the Sacraments. All are encouraged to

share their time, talent and treasure as we grow in

love through our Catholic faith and the life, death and

resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

A blessed Christmas and happy New Year to the parish family of St. John the Baptist. We are blessed to be part of this community of faith.

May the peace and joy of the birth of the Lord Jesus fill the hearts of all our families, our friends and our neighbors!

WEEKLY COLLECTIONS

This issue of the bulletin needed to go to press on December

21st. We do not have the collection total for December 24, the

Fourth Sunday of Advent. The total for the Christmas Collection

will be finalized by the middle of January

THANK YOU for your generosity during the year 2017!

During our Stewardship Renewal, more families enrolled in

Autmoated Giving, and the parish is grateful for your support

throughout the year!

Page 11

Please consider “automated giving” as you reflect on support of our

parish family! The fruitful ministries at our parish are

examples of how many of you have

answered, and continue to answer, that call.

To ensure such work can continue requires

not only gifts of time, but also of financial

help. I ask you to prayerfully consider

supporting our parish with electronic

donations through Faith Direct. You can find

paper enrollment forms in the parish office, or you can sign up online at

www.faithdirect.net by using our church code, NY67.

Many people in our parish share in our Outreach Minis-

try by giving of their time, talent, and treasure. We look

forward to working with

you to respond to those in

need during this New Year.

We ask for your continued support and prayer. Together we do make a

difference.

We want to take a moment to reflect on the amazing generosity of

our parish community.

We are grateful to all of you who donated to our monthly collection

or provide us with gift cards.

We are grateful to all of you who donated to or worked on the Recy-

cling, Back-to-School, Thanksgiving Basket, or Giving Tree Pro-

grams. We are grateful for all of you who volunteer on Tuesdays and

Thursdays in the Outreach Office, who stand at the Church doors for

our monthly collection, who shop for food, who drive those in need of a ride, who volunteer for

our Linus Ministry, who volunteer for the Gathering Inn, and who attend and work on the St. Pat-

rick’s Day Gala. Thanksgiving and Christmas bring out the giving spirit in so many of us, but

we are so fortunate because we have your support throughout the year. There is no way that we

can adequately express the gratitude we have for that support.
