Christ the King Mission Statement

Our community serves the mission of Jesus Christ, to make disciples of all nations, welcoming them into the loving family of God. United in the Eucharist and blessed by a diversity of gifts, we desire to give glory to God and to build His Kingdom "on earth as it is in Heaven".

adoración a Jesús?

Feast of Corpus Christi What an awesome and powerful gift Jesus, our Lord and Savior, gives us in the Eucharist, present in the Blessed Sacrament. Jesus gives us this way to approach our living God, accessible here at the Saint Peregrine Cancer Shrine. Do you realize the powerful gift you have in adoration of Jesus? What will keep you away from the gift of our Lord who awaits you and asks you to spend a little time adoring Him? Make the decision to visit Him regularly, and on this beautiful feast day of Corpus Christi.

Blessing for Married Couples

Father’s Day is an important time to celebrate the role of fatherhood within the Christian family and is the ideal day to have

a blessing for married couples.

We are inviting married couples to receive a special blessing on

June 19, at the 11:00 am Mass.

Thank you,

KofC Council 3419.

Good-Bye... It is both with joy and sorrow that I say good-bye to the role of Parish Manager at Christ the King. I am heeding the Lord's Call to focus more on pastoral matters as opposed to administrative ones. I am grateful to have been a part of the work we have done together over the past 6.5 years.

I did not take this decision lightly, as most of you know, I have invested my whole person, and my family here for the last 6 and a half years, in my role as parish manager. I am incredibly grateful to have been a part of the spirit filled work we

have done together. Together we have accomplished so much, with the major achievements being: integrated a religious order and created a convent; remodeled the music area, confessionals and the sanctuary, created a narthex, and renovated the church courtyard; partnered with Maggie’s Place, to make Hannah House a reality, redesigned the parish websites and initiated the use of social media and online giving. While accomplishing all of that, we built a beautiful cancer ministry, started the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine endowment fund and raised over $300K, and increased the parish total cash assets by $1.3M (200%) to $1.9M. Of course, there have been many other achievements as well and I thank each and everyone of you for the role you have played. Isn't it amazing when we look back at all we have accomplished together?

Know that the impact of our work will be felt for generations to come. While my work will take me elsewhere, I hope to continue to call this my parish home where my family and I can enjoy the fruits of our labor. From the bottom of my heart I sincerely thank you for the opportunity to serve you; for the love you have shown me; for helping me to continue to grow in my love for our Catholic Faith, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and each other. From Our Parochial Administrator...

The Parish Organizational Structure is developed with Cross as its model to emphasize the work relations in the parish for the greater good. A Cross has two dimensions, namely the vertical and the horizontal dimensions. On top is the Pastor. Under the Pastor are the Parochial Vicar, the Deacons, the Pastoral and Finance Councils and the Pastoral Associate who take directions and work with the Pastor. Horizontally are the different committees with specific goals to attain. The different ministries in the Parish are categorized with the participation of the parish staff into seven different committees, including the school. With the participation of both the parish staff and the parish pastoral council, we drew out some concrete actions to attain these goals. Every Committee has a Coordinator. The coordinators compose the core team with the Pastor as the team leader. The different ministries will coordinate with their respective Coordinator. Underlying the structure is the vertical dimension of relationship. Guided by the principle of subordination, it recognizes the different interests in the community. The parish community has the following as its goals, namely: liturgy, catalyst for faith, communications and marketing, volunteerism and unity. Ministry’s interest and individual’s interest may go along with the parish’s interests in order to attain its goals. But sometimes, personal and parish’s interests are in conflict. And if it happens, personal’s interest or ministry’s interest will subordinate to parish’s interest for the common good. On the horizontal dimension of relationship are the interconnections among different committees. The principle of subsidiarity guides the different members to support and help each other, especially the new and smaller groups to attain their legitimate ends and not depriving them of their functions. In this way, every member and ministry is empowered to function effectively always with a view to the common good of the parish. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, may we develop a culture of teamwork, as envisioned by the parish, to make disciples, which is nourished by the Eucharistic act of receiving and giving. God bless us all.

Perpetual Adoration

TAKE A MOMENT TO DISCERN AND PRAY Substitute Adorers Needed!

Most scheduled adorers have partnered with someone so that, when they are unable to keep

their hour with Jesus, they can call on them. However, occasionally there is a need to find a substitute. At least a day’s time is needed to do

this. We have a list of volunteers to whom we send a “call-out email’ and if they are able to cover that hour, they reply to the email; otherwise they can

ignore the call-out request. We can always use additional volunteers. If you would like to be

included, please send an email to [email protected] and you’ll be added

to the substitute email list. You will not be bothered by phone calls and only need to respond

when available.

Prayer of Mercy Lord Jesus Christ, You have taught us to be Merciful like the Heavenly Father. Open my eyes to see your loving face, and my ears to hear your words that I will be saved. You are the visible face of the merciful and forgiving Father. Let everyone who comes to the Church and the ministers feel sought after, loved and forgiven by God. Grant that by the power of the Spirit I may become an apostle of mercy and forgiveness to the weak and sinners through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy. Amen. Your body, your blood, united with us. Your graces of love poured out from above. As heaven kisses earth we joyously proclaim,

“Blessed are you, Lord; God forever, God of creation! Blessed are you, Lord; God forever, God of creation!”

One heart, one mind, one family with angels and saints give praise to thee. As heaven kisses earth we joyously proclaim,

The angels stand before you now and praise you night and day. Resounding in their heav’nly song, we join them as we say

Word made flesh to save us all, at Your table we recall. Hungry hearts with grace You feed, a foretaste of eternity.

Word of God, enthroned, dwell in us forevermore. Love has come to show the way. Hallelujah, peace be with us. Love has come to show the way.

Miracle of grace, mystery of faith, calling us to venture to the deep.

Though our senses fail, Your graces still prevail, and we become the love that we receive.

Bread of life, Bread of life. Those who eat this bread shall live and never die.

Bread of life, Bread of life. Your true presence in this holy sacrifice.

Bread of life.

Unworthy though we are, You feed the hungry heart with bread come down from heaven above.

And like a grain of wheat, we fall down at Your feet, dying here with You. Oh, let us rise!

Your faithfulness revealed in this covenant You’ve sealed

with Your very body and Your blood. Come, claim your bride again with love that cannot

end, for what God joins no one can divide.

John Michael Talbot © 1982 Birdwing Music

I am the Bread of Life. All who eat this Bread will never die.

I am God's love revealed. I am broken that you might be healed.

All who eat of this heavenly Bread; All who drink this cup of the covenant.

You will live forever for I will raise you up.

No one who comes to Me shall ever hunger again. No one who believes shall ever thirst.

All that the Father draws shall come to Me; And I will give them rest.

Dan Schutte © 1992 OCP

Come to the feast of heaven and earth. Come to the table of plenty! God will provide for all that we need, here at the table of plenty.

O come and sit at My table where saints and sinners are friends. I wait to welcome the lost and lonely to share the cup of My love.

O come and eat without money; come to drink without price. My feast of gladness will feed your spirit with faith and fullness of life.

My bread will ever sustain you through days of sorrow and woe. My wine will flow like a sea of gladness to flood the depths of your soul.

Your fields will flower in fullness; your homes will flourish in peace. For I, the giver of home and harvest, will send My rain on the soil.

Composer: Tune: FULDA Text: I Udultsch

O Jesus we adore You, who in Your love divine, Conceal Your mighty Godhead

in forms of bread and wine.

O Sacrament most holy, O Sacrament divine, All praise and all thanksgiving

be ev'ry moment thine!

O Jesus we adore You, our victim and our priest, Whose precious blood and body

become our sacred feast.

O Jesus we adore You, our Savior and our King, And with the saints and angels

our humble homage bring.

O Jesus, we adore You, come live in us we pray, That all our thoughts and actions

be Yours alone today.

O come all you who labor in sorrow and in pain; Come eat this bread from heaven; your peace and strength regain.

Abre mis ojos a tu

Amen.

para el Jubileo de la Misericordia)
