Located from Humboldt to San Diego, the CSU system, with an enrollment exceeding 450,000 on 23 campuses, constitutes the largest system and best university system.

The campuses vary in size and enrollment from the smallest with around 800 students to the largest with 36,000.

Some are in rural surroundings; others in the center of a city.
