• Responsible for overseeing day to day operations of The Enrollment Services Center which included Office of the Registrar, Student Financial Services, Educational Planning, Testing and Generalists Services. • As Senior Director, responsible for supervision of Directors in charge of enrollment services areas. Responsible for developing and executing enrollment plans. During tenure as Senior Director established the following: monthly staff meetings for managers and staff in the Enrollment Services Center. • As Senior Director, created the Enrollment Services Calendar and coordinated the startup process for a new department (The Generalists Model) within the Enrollment Services Center. Created the training program and marketing plan for the new department and analyzed data and created reports on effectiveness of the new department.

Reported to the Assistant Dean for Student Development and Senior Director of Campus Life, The Director of Student Engagement was an integral part of the Student Development

team responsible for assisting in the leadership, management and coordination for student support services which included, personal & academic guidance; electronic, print and broadcast media; leadership & co curricular programs, curriculum development and execution. Served as Co-Coordinator of New Student Orientation and Chaired The African Heritage Celebration

The Student Engagement Director was responsible for supporting gender program initiatives, monitoring developments in statutory changes and best practices in retention, student engagement and other relevant student related areas of responsibility.

As Campus Life Media and Communications Liaison, worked with administrative staff in research of best practices in associated areas and in conjunction with the Director of Campus Life assisted in sound analysis and incorporation of research in design of projects.

Interim University Director, Director of Enrollment Services and Deputy Director- City University of New York Office of Admission Services, (Now Known as the Welcome Center) January 2000- September 2009

The Office of Admission Services (OAS) (Now Known as The Welcome Center) is the central admissions office for City University of New York’s colleges and special programs.

Provided overall direction for the Office of Admission Services. As Interim University Director was responsible for serving as liaison for the central admissions office, assessing

ongoing recruitment plans for the university; dissemination of information as well as managing and compiling information for the central office’s monthly report.

In consultation with City University colleagues, formulated and planned marketing and admission projects. Responsible for managing recruitment and enrollment projects for City University. Responsible for planning programs for and serving as university liaison to constituents like college advisors, guidance counselors, and high school principals.

As Director of Enrollment Services and Deputy Director managed CUNY OAS Welcome Centers which included, but was not limited to daily supervision of 30 professional and part time staff. The Welcome Centers were responsible for handling 2000 walk in prospective students monthly as well as assisting in the Call Center when needed.

The Call Center handled at minimum 20,000 calls monthly through both the Integrated Voice Response System and “live counselors”. The deputy director supervised and managed: technical support; personnel and budget, administrative support services and publications. The deputy director coordinated efforts for university wide special events.

Responsible for assessing the effectiveness of the welcome centers. As Director of Enrollment Services, responsible for human resources concerns for the staff, budget approval (The annual budget at OAS was between 1.5 and 2 million dollars), and staff development.

Special Assignments at CUNY

Enrollment Management-Special Assignment- York College- (January 2005- August 2005)

Reported to the Vice Chancellor for Student Development and Enrollment Management and the President of York College. Appointed by the Vice Chancellor’s Office to an ad-hoc assignment to review York College’s Enrollment Management Process.

The assignment included collaborating with colleagues in admissions, financial aid, the registrar’s office and testing to assess each department’s role in the enrollment management process. The

Assignment also included reviewing York College’s recruitment and retention procedures.

As the university representative at York, participated in and helped plan external functions. Other activities included working with central office representatives to help increase enrollment.

Director of Admissions/ Associate Director of Admissions- Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education/City University Medical School- September 1991- December 1999

As Director of Admissions at Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education/City University Medical School, was responsible for the daily operation of the admissions office. As director, created a program to improve efforts to increase the number of underrepresented students in medicine.

The associate director did hands-on recruitment at high schools in the greater New York City area. As associate director, was responsible for disseminating admission and financial aid information as well as fostering relationships with college advisors and guidance counselors.
