Heartiest Congratulations to the Class of ’84

May God continue to bless you and your families.

Clive Pantin

Class of ‘84

A few months ago, I read a book by Dr. Ann Fergusonentitled “Bad Boys”. This book describes how bad boysare made; not by members of the criminal justice system, on street corners, in shopping malls or videoarcades, but in and by schools, through the very meas-ures used to make them into good boys. Since readingthat book, I have become more resolute in my view thatFatima Boys are “Good Boys”. Certain elements in placeat our College make it possible for me to make thisstatement with such conviction.

The class of 1984 offers that inspiration to FatimaCollege, which guides us in whatever we do, ensuringthat we maintain the highest standards of educationalachievement. You act both as support and facilitator and our successes are due in no small measure to thededication and commitment of our Old Boys.

On behalf of the Fatima College Community, I thank andcongratulate you for your efforts at maintaining our highideals.

It is with great pleasure that I offer greetings to all on behalf ofthe ‘Fatima Class of 1984 Reunion Committee’. The planning ofthe reunion dinner and associated items, such as this com-memorative publication, have been a six-month plus ‘labour oflove’, fuelled by the pride we all feel as Fatima alumni, as wellas the desire to meet our friends and former classmates whowere so instrumental in molding us into the people we aretoday.

It has been my honour to chair such a hard working and dedi-cated committee, and I offer my personal thanks to all membersand their families for their efforts and support. The committeeis also grateful to the many non-committee members and non-alumni who have helped make all this all possible - our deepestthanks to you.

We hope that this reunion will be the first of many, as westrive to maintain our bonds of friendship in the face of theravages of time. In 2009, our class will be celebrating its SilverAnniversary, a milestone surely warranting a grand event. Youcan look forward to an earlier start for the planning next time, and hopefully much greater participation as a result.

In closing, we wish the 1984 graduating alumni good healthand safety until we meet again and, as noted in our schoolsong, “come answer to the call, from far and wide”.

Fellow Alumni...

I take pleasure in this opportunity to offer congratulations,on behalf of the Fatima Old Boys’ Association, on the celebration of your class reunion. This type of comingtogether and strengthening of ties “outside the grey shirt”could only auger well for our organisation, which is solelydependent on the enthusiasm and willingness of our pastpupils to serve our Alma Mater.

The Fatima Old Boys’ Association is committed to upholdingthe ideals of the Our Lady of Fatima College and to do allin its power to assist the management and staff in maintaining the highest educational standards in a qualityenvironment. It is a great source of encouragement to seestudents, twenty years after and in the midst of profes-sional success, return to their educational roots and giverecognition to where it all began.

Congratulations to you and may God bless us all.
