From theCAMPUS MINISTERMs. Eileen Goeke

Trinity Catholic High School retreat days were held October 12-13. Theseniors enjoyed an overnight experience of faith, reflection and sharing inthe beautiful settings of the Lasalle and Marianist Retreat Centers in Eureka, and the Il Ritiro Retreat Center in Dittmer, Missouri. The juniors, sopho-mores, and freshmen spent a day at their retreat sights. Activities includedpersonal and group sharing, art projects, prayer, Liturgy, and of course, lunch and some free time!

The students returned from retreat days excited about their experiences andpositive about spending time with classmates reflecting on relationships, selfawareness, and God’s place in their lives.

A Freshman Class Liturgy took place on October 28. Trinity freshmenwalked together to Our Lady of the Rosary Church to celebrate liturgytogether. Father Ochoa presided and members of the freshman class readthe readings, led the singing, offered petitions and prayed together as Trinity’sClass of 2014.

The Trinity Mission Team will be beginning their second quarter project. This project will involved collecting toys for the Sts. Terese and BridgetParish Thrift Store. The thrift store enables parents to purchase Christmasgifts for their children at affordable prices. The proceeds from the thrift storesales provide funds for their parish youth activities. Please encourage yourchildren to bring in new children’s toys during the announced collectiondays.

Campus Ministry is preparing for the Thanksgiving/Grandparents’ Mass tobe held Tuesday, November 23. This special liturgy combines our love andrespect for Grandparents with our desire to offer thanksgiving for all ourblessings. October at Trinity was busy and exciting. There is no reasonto expect that the months ahead will be any different.

The end of the first quarter brought the arrival of report cardsand the opportunity for parents to meet with their students’teachers. The turn out on Thursday, October 21, was veryimpressive. I want to thank all of the Trinity parents for thetremendous support and encouragement given to ourstudents. Parent involvement is crucial for student success. Please continue to check Family Access on a regular basis. One suggestion would be to check grades on a weekly basiswith your student. This would provide an immediateopportunity for conversation.

Now that we are in to the second quarter of the school year, please take some time to talk to your sons and daughtersabout their goals for the rest of the semester. Encouragethem to make long term plans for success. Semester examswill be held on December 17, 20, and 21. For our studentsthat may seem far into the future, but it is actually less thanseven weeks away. There is much that needs to beaccomplished between now and then. Keep your studentson target. Reinforce good study and homework habits. Timemanagement is a skill that has life long benefits. Contactteachers by phone or email whenever you have any questionsor concerns.

In the month of Thanksgiving, remember to count yourblessings one by one. It is amazing to me how high thatcount can go. May God continue to bless each of us with thefaith to know that He is always with us.

Dear Parents,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon us! Each and every day your daughtersand sons bring us His blessings. In the month of November we pauseand THANK God for His countless gifts to us. Know that we THANKGod for you and the sacrifices you are making to send your daughtersand sons to Trinity. In this economy that is a difficult challenge. WithGod’s help we will succeed.

SPECIAL THANKS to our Trinity Treasures auction committee chairedby Renee and Bill Bierman. This past Saturday night was a bigsuccess with 225 people in attendance . Kudos to our students forserving and speaking. The following students brought tears to manyeyes. .Gabby Merz accompanied by Mike Hilmes, Ellen Hilmes,Zhane Ochoa, Matt Braun and Kevin McKenna. These Titansintroduced the oral auction and I am sure loosened a number ofpocketbooks. . .At intermission of the live auction Mike Taylor sharedhis story of his help from the Angel Fund. At that point the crowddonated $13,400 to the Fund. We are proud of our Titans and we aregrateful to all the people who part icipated in any way to make theauction the success it was. Trinity does rest in God’s hands as eachone of us does on a daily basis.

Trivia Night is coming up November 13 and we look forward to a bigcrowd. It’s a fun evening, so gather your friends for the start of theholiday season.

Remember if you know of anyone who would like to have a legacy thattouches the future, ask them to invest in Trinity. If you don’t want to askthem, please call me and I would be very happy to do it . This is achance to GIVE BACK for all the blessings God has given.

Know of my prayers for you on this Thanksgiving Day that God givesyou His love, His peace and His joy. May the love of the Father enfoldus, the wisdom of the Son enlighten us, the fire of the Spirit enflame us,and may the blessing of the Triune God rest on us and abide with usnow and evermore.
